Fast becoming an adrenaline junkie’s paradise, Blaenau Ffestinog offers fabulous activities such as Bounce Below where you can bounce on trampoline nets deep underground in an old slate cavern the size of St Paul’s Cathedral, Zipworld Titan where you can try out Europe’s largest zip wire zone, and the Stiniog Downhill Bike Trails – bring your own mountain bike! Surrounded by the Snowdonia National Park, there are some lovely walks from the door, with pretty Betws-y-Coed and Swallow Falls, and the peaceful Llyn Peninsula, both a short car journey away. This two bedroom, 19th-century, semi-detached stone holiday cottage is on the edge of the attractive village of Dolwyddelan in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park. It is surrounded by wonderful scenic countryside with mountains, valleys, lakes and waterfalls, creating a paradise for all outdoor pursuits, with many great walking opportunities from the door to explore the surrounding area. Within 5 miles is Blaenau Ffestiniog, now becoming the adventure capital of north Wales, with its undergound trampolining at Bounce Below, ZipWorld, one of the world’s longest zip wires and the Stiniog downhill mountain bike trails.
Blaenau Ffestiniog also provides the start of the Ffestiniog railway, which runs through the mountains to Porthmadog, where the famous Italianate village of Portmeirion lies. The lovely village of Betws-y-Coed provides a choice of shopping and restaurants. The Surf Snowdonia is just 15 miles away with one of the world’s first inland surf centres. Also in the area are the well known Swallow and Conwy Falls, as well as Lake Bala and Llandudno with its Victorian promenade and shops. Also close by are several golf courses and riding stables.

The barn is situated in the grounds of a small farm, and is an ideal holiday base close to the mountains of Snowdonia. Tan Rallt Barn has plenty of space for eight people and can accommodate climbing and walking groups coming into the Snowdonia National Park. It’s a great location for outdoor enthusiasts being close to the Ogwen Valley and Zip World - the longest zipwire in the northern hemisphere, and just a short drive from Llanberis and Snowdon, with its famous mountain railway. You’ll find Penrhyn Castle (NT) just down the road, whilst Caernarfon, with its impressive castle, the Isle of Anglesey with 125 miles of coastline, Capel Curig and Betws-y-Coed are all close by. The GreenWood Forest Park at Y Felinheli, Yr Hwylfan (The Fun Centre) at Caernarfon and Electric Mountain at Llanberis are all well worth a visit. Shop 0.5 miles, pub and restaurant 3 miles. This superb property, set in the middle of the popular town of Betws-y-Coed is spread over three floors and has a good sized garden with views across the river. With the many mountain walks and cycle tracks in the area, there is plenty to do. Along with the many shops and restaurants there are also golf courses and riding schools locally as well as kayaking and climbing. With many places of interest close by, you can visit the National Trust properties at Bodnant Gardens or the Castle of Conwy as well as Victorian Llandudno. Snowdon itself is close by where you can choose to walk up or get the train to the top from Llanberis. Shop 200 yards, pub 100 yards and restaurant 120 yards.

There are stunning views from the holiday cottage across the mountains and lake. There are many fantastic mountain walks and also a walk around the lake as well as fishing in the lake. With Beddgelert only 10 miles away and Porthmadog and the Italianate village of Portmeirion is 15 miles away, the beach at Dinas Dinlle is 7 miles away. Mount Snowdon and many other mountains in the range are all close at hand for those wishing to climb them. Also available are riding, cycling, bird watching, golf and fishing.
