    Grassington, England
    Tucked away just off the main square in a delightful courtyard location, this ground floor holiday apartment combines its original features with the comforts of modern living and the advantage of a designated car parking space directly outside. We have a small area outside with a bench seat for catching the sun. It lies within the centre of Grassington, which has a wide selection of country shops, pubs and restaurants, and makes an ideal base from which to walk or tour the wonderful Yorkshire Dales National Park. In June Grassington plays host to a Music and Arts Festival which draws a wide variety of well known performers and in September Grassington hosts a 1940’s weekend. December brings the Christmas market to the village. The bustling market town of Skipton with its Norman castle, canal trips and golf course can be reached within 10 miles. Nearby there are pubs, restaurants, coffee shops and individual shops selling a wide variety of local treasures, as well as a post office and supermarket and a bus service to get you back. Alternatively, for those who enjoy a spa experience, Long Ashes, 1.5miles away, offers an indoor swimming pool and beauty therapy. National Trust properties and sites are a short drive away.

The cottage has been built from beautiful traditional Yorkshire stone, and is tucked away in the grounds of the owner’s home Cherry Garth. It has an open plan living area with a welcoming wood burner to snuggle up in front of after a busy day out exploring the spectacular Yorkshire coast and countryside, and upon arrival you will be welcomed with a lovely welcome pack with tea, coffee and biscuits. There are lovely views from the property onto the garden and the bedroom window overlooks the paddock, where sheep graze.

    The picturesque village of Thornton le Dale is located on the edge of the North York Moors, a mere one mile from Pickering. From here you can take a ride on the famous steam train to Grosmont, Goathland (aka Aidensfield in the classic TV series Heartbeat) and the seaside town of Whitby where you can climb the 199 steps to Whitby Abbey. Those looking for a quieter pace of life may prefer to walk the many footpaths and bridleways over the North York Moors.
