Although the village of Thirsk has some beautiful short walks around river Cod Beck, just 12 minutes by car takes you to the Sutton Bank National Park and when you walk to the top of the Sutton Bank escarpment you will be rewarded by one of the best views in England over the Vale of Mowbray. The hotel is also close to the North Yorkshire moors and the Yorkshire Dales national parks.
