This 18th-century, stone built, semi-detached holiday cottage is set in the Yorkshire Dales National Park on the edge of the small hamlet of Sedbusk, and enjoys wonderful views over the surrounding countryside from its enclosed south-facing garden – ideal for relaxing in. Red squirrels visit the garden, checking for food on the bird table, and can be seen from the cottage. The traditional bustling market town of Hawes is just over a mile away and enjoys a variety of shops, pubs and restaurants together with the Hawes Creamery, famous for ‘Wallace and Gromit’s’ favourite Wensleydale cheese. The beautiful hamlet of Beckermonds is positioned in the very heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. This detached holiday cottage makes an ideal retreat from everyday life, being one of only five dwellings in this secluded location. Beckermonds, from the ‘Old Norse’, means the ‘meeting of the streams’. It is here, at the confluence of Oughtershaw and Greenfield becks, that the River Wharfe starts its journey through Langstrothdale, into Upper Wharfedale and then continues to define one of the most celebrated dales. Right outside the door are memorable walking opportunities set amid breath-taking scenery, as well as private fly fishing nearby (trout, free of charge, Mar-Sep). The private, enclosed, dog friendly, west facing garden is a glorious sun trap on summer evenings, from where you can expect to see rare red squirrels and a variety of wildlife.
Contained within a 5-mile easy walking radius, you will find three quintessential dales pubs. Why not visit them together in an 11-mile circuit walk? The market town of Hawes is only 7 miles away and offers shops, pubs, restaurants, tea rooms, banks and a chemist, as well as a traditional British fish and chip restaurant. This terraced holiday cottage is one of a small terrace that is closed to traffic and has a pleasant outlook over the grounds to the grammar school and is only 10 minutes’ walk from the centre of this historic little market town. Skipton has many attractions for the visitor: a superb castle, attractive high street with market, and a fine selection of quality shops and restaurants, swimming pool, tennis courts and a pitch and putt course. An ideal touring location. Shop 200 yards, pub 400 yards.

This bungalow has a large surrounding garden area set back from the road. It has superb views of Ingleborough and is centrally situated for the Three Peaks Walk. Comfortably furnished, it has the benefit of an open fire in the living room, making it suitable for year-round holidays. This former cart store has been converted into a quaint Dale’s stone cottage set just off the village green in Bellerby. With its streams and mill race running through Bellerby it’s a picturesque setting at the edge of Wensleydale. Entering the front door into the living/dining room with exposed stonework, flagstone flooring, beams and a large inglenook fireplace, the cottage offers an abundance of character and charm. The two settees set around the open fire offer a cosy feel while watching the Smart TV in Holly Cottage.
A dining table and chairs are positioned to the rear of the room. Going through to the kitchen, all the appliances, crockery, and utensils you need are available to rustle up some cosy meals while staying at Holly Cottage. The characterful staircase from the living room has uneven, deep treads with a rope banister to guide you up towards the two bedrooms. Both rooms offer comfortable beds, one being a double, the other offering bunk beds suitable for children with attractive quality linen and hand and bath towels available for each Guest. The compact shower room has a shower cubicle with a deep step in/out, toilet, sink and heated towel rail.
To the rear of the property there is an enclosed picket fenced garden which includes a lawn area and flower beds, along with a stone patio h a table, chairs, and a bench to enjoy sitting at while taking in a morning coffee or firing up the barbecue for an alfresco supper. The South facing front garden is not secured for dogs but guests can happily sit there on the bench and watch the world go by. The shared front driveway which offers parking for 1 car. The attached property, Cherry Tree Cottage, has allocated parking for 2 cars on the same driveway. Both properties can be used by larger Groups if required. Please ask about this option.
Bellerby is a village situated on the edge of The Yorkshire Dales National Park with a local pub serving a selection of real ales but unfortunately no food and although there is no shop or amenities as such in the village the lovely market town of Leyburn is just over a mile away where an array of individual shops, pubs, cafés, and restaurants are available. If you are looking to get out and stretch your legs, whether walking or cycling, there are abundant established public footpaths, bridleways, and cycle routes available in the local vicinity with spectacular scenery, open countryside, and pretty Yorkshire villages to explore.
Within easy driving distance there is an array of places to visit whether it’s the historic Castle Bolton, Richmond Castle, Jervaulx Abbey or the stunning Aysgarth Falls, there is something to suit everyone’s taste. The children and adults alike will love Forbidden Corner with its quirky folly garden to explore or for the more adventurous why not visit the theme park, Lightwater Valley.
