This comfortable, detached cottage is set in a secluded location on the smallholding of Erw Goed, which sits peacefully within the Snowdonia National Park. Situated between the beautiful Mawddach Estuary and the foothills of Cadair Idris, just 3 miles from lovely sandy beaches at Fairbourne and Barmouth. The property is accessed by crossing some uneven ground and via a small footbridge over a stream. Guests have sole use of the ½-acre fenced garden with stream running through, there is a camp fire site available for outdoor cooking or camp fires, and guests are also welcome to explore Erw Goed’s 30 acres of gardens and unspoilt woodland and hill with spectacular views over the estuary. You can also meet the livestock including ducks, chickens, bees and sometimes pigs. The Mawddach Trail is easily accessible and the market town of Dolgellau is 6 miles away. Walking, pony trekking, fishing and golf are available locally. Coed-y-Brenin, 10 miles, is a renowned mountain biking centre. Shop, pub and restaurant 3 miles.

Ty Hir is located close to the beautiful Mawddach Estuary with its coastal trail and cycle path. There is direct access from the farm leading down to the golden sands of Fairbourne beach, great for families with small children or across the Victorian bridge to Barmouth. If you wish you can just relax, enjoy a spot of fishing nearby, or for the more energetic you can enjoy family walks in the idyllic scenery, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Snowdonia National Park. The family-run pony trekking and equestrian centre on-site is just on the north side of the farm, away from our holiday cottages with menage Hire (arena), riders or complete beginners are catered for. Hen Ysgubor is a ground floor apartment situated below Ysgubor Uchaf which is the first floor apartment. They overlook the beautiful Mawddach Estuary, just off the coastal road to Fairbourne. Both properties are close for the beautiful Mawddach Estuary footpath and coastal trail/cycle path and direct access from the farm leads down to the golden sands of Fairbourne beach or across the Victorian bridge to Barmouth.

Just 2 miles away is Tywyn, with a good selection of shops, cafés and a lovely sandy beach, and fashionable and lively Aberdovey is just a little further round the coast. This is a superb location for enjoying lovely walks and cycling, with an abundance of wildlife and wonderful waterfalls to spot and enjoy. To the north of the village is Barmouth, start of the Mawddach Trail, which passes over Barmouth Bridge and follows the track bed of the old railway line along the Mawddach Estuary to Dolgellau. Bring your bucket and spade as the glorious sandy beach at Morfa Dyffryn is just a mile down the road and offers superb views over to the Rhinog Mountains. For the more adventurous, Zip World and Bounce Below at Blaenau Ffestiniog are a thrill seekers delight, whilst the famous Ffestiniog Railway and mighty Harlech Castle are also well worth a visit. From Barmouth, why not hire a bike and cycle across Barmouth Bridge and along the Mawddach Trail to Penmaenpool and Dolgellau? Beach 1 mile. Shops 300 yards, pubs and restaurants ½ mile.

Barmouth is situated on the Mawddach Estuary and boasts lovely sandy beaches making this ideal for relaxing walks along the coast, cycling along the Mawddach Trail or discovering many sights and attractions. Castles can be found all over the area at Bala, Caenarfon and Harlech. If you like to get out in the fresh air, this is great walking country, why not tackle the peak of Cadair Idris? This cottage for four, one of a pair, has many original features including beamed ceilings and a narrow staircase. Situated near the village of Talsarnau, it lies in the hills between Harlech and Porthmadog. With walks from the door into the hills and surrounding mountains, it is only a short drive across the estuary to the Italianate village of Portmeirion, designed by Sir Clough Williams Ellis and used for the series ‘Prisoner’. Nearby in the former slate quarrying town of Blaenau Ffestiniog, is Bounce Below, where you can bounce on trampoline nets in an underground slate cavern, and Zipworld Titan, the largest zip wire zone in the world, a real mecca for adrenaline enthusiasts. The famous Ffestiniog Railway also runs from Blaenau on a scenic journey down to the coast at Porthmadog. The Cambrian coastline includes Harlech with its castle and sandy beach and Barmouth, a harbour town with a mountainous backdrop, whilst in the other direction the Lleyn Peninsula features the seaside towns of Criccieth and Abersoch.

Located in the coastal village of Fairbourne, this holiday property has a large lawned garden with great views of the mountains, yet is only a couple of minutes walk from the lovely, quiet, two-mile long sandy beach, over stones. Many of the area’s beaches are dog friendly and Fairlawns can accommodate up to 2 dogs. The property makes a great base for exploring the area. Take a trip on the little Fairbourne Railway out to the headland and cross the Mawddach Estuary by ferry, and visit Barmouth where you can try crabbing in the harbour, or stroll across the famous Barmouth Bridge. Imagine yourself climbing Cader Idris, exploring the ruins of Castell-y-Bere, or riding behind a steam engine on the friendly Talyllyn Railway and hopping off the train to explore the waterfalls at Dolgoch or Nant Gwernol. Visit the pretty market town of Dolgellau, go walking or mountain biking at Coed-Y-Brenin Forest Park, then relax in the garden with a glass of wine, watching the sun set.
