The barn is situated in the grounds of a small farm, and is an ideal holiday base close to the mountains of Snowdonia. Tan Rallt Barn has plenty of space for eight people and can accommodate climbing and walking groups coming into the Snowdonia National Park. It’s a great location for outdoor enthusiasts being close to the Ogwen Valley and Zip World - the longest zipwire in the northern hemisphere, and just a short drive from Llanberis and Snowdon, with its famous mountain railway. You’ll find Penrhyn Castle (NT) just down the road, whilst Caernarfon, with its impressive castle, the Isle of Anglesey with 125 miles of coastline, Capel Curig and Betws-y-Coed are all close by. The GreenWood Forest Park at Y Felinheli, Yr Hwylfan (The Fun Centre) at Caernarfon and Electric Mountain at Llanberis are all well worth a visit. Shop 0.5 miles, pub and restaurant 3 miles. Ty Hir is located close to the beautiful Mawddach Estuary with its coastal trail and cycle path. There is direct access from the farm leading down to the golden sands of Fairbourne beach, great for families with small children or across the Victorian bridge to Barmouth. If you wish you can just relax, enjoy a spot of fishing nearby, or for the more energetic you can enjoy family walks in the idyllic scenery, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Snowdonia National Park. The family-run pony trekking and equestrian centre on-site is just on the north side of the farm, away from our holiday cottages with menage Hire (arena), riders or complete beginners are catered for. Holiday stabling is available by arrangement should you wish to bring your own horse. Shop, Golf course, pub and restaurant ¾ mile . Cycle trails and Zip World, Bounce Below approx 45 min drive. In a unique rural location, accessed by its own private track across rolling green fields, this renovated, detached, former farmhouse was once part of the nearby Glynllifon country estate. Set in quiet, tranquil countryside surrounded by rolling green, tree-studded farmland, it enjoys fabulous views to the rear of the Snowdonia Mountains, and to the front there are far reaching views across to Anglesey and the Lleyn Peninsula. In fact, on a clear day you can see the ferries leaving the port of Holyhead on their journey across the Irish sea to Dublin!
This really is a superb spot for exploring this amazing part of North Wales, where you can enjoy both spectacular mountain scenery and the most amazing beaches, along with a host of family attractions. It really does make a fantastic base from which to explore the Snowdonia National Park whatever time of year, with its cosy wood burner and wonderful hot tub.
The many attractions of this area include a narrow gauge steam railway, which winds its way from historic Caernarfon into the heart of the Snowdonia Mountains, and a small airfield for pleasure flights over the area. Caernarfon, with its magnificent castle, is within easy reach and also offers a fine selection of shops, pubs and restaurants, along with golf, bike hire and sailing. Beach 4½ miles. There are three separate comfy seating rooms, which consist of a large living room with inglenook fireplace housing a log burner, a cosier snug sitting room which also has a log burner perfect for a cosy evening indoors, there’s also a sunroom which is ideal for admiring the garden and surrounding fabulous views from.
The impressive kitchen has a large quintessential country cottage dining table in the centre, making this the ideal social area to gather everyone together and chat about your day. There are two family bathrooms and four spacious bedrooms with top quality mattresses and furnishings. The cottage has been furnished to a high standard to ensure your comfort throughout your stay. Outside there is ample parking and a large garden with seating areas and not forgetting the private hot tub.

Ty Ni is a large modern property with open airy rooms and a sophisticated style. There’s four bedrooms, three of which have en-suites, and a separate family bathroom. The living and dining area have been furnished to ensure your comfort, the ideal social space for everyone to relax in. There’s a large kitchen with double oven, you’ll certainly be fully equipped for cooking up a feast. Through the kitchen there is a utility room, a much needed space for cleaning up after a muddy walk or a day spent down the beach.

Just down the road you’ll find Harlech home to the imposing UNESCO world heritage site Harlech Castle. Bustling Barmouth is also only a short distance, take a walk along the promenade and indulge in some fish and chips. An iconic feature of the town is Barmouth Bridge, over 150-year-old railway viaduct across the Mawddach Estuary. It is half a mile in length with a wooden promenade suitable for pedestrians or cyclists which now forms part of the Wales Coast Path and the Lon Las Cymru Cycle Network. Nantcol waterfalls are just 5 miles away and offer a great day out, a perfect place for a family picnic whilst playing in the stream. Plas Gwyn is a spacious property perfect for friends and families getting together. There is a large living room with comfy sofas and lovely views over the river. To the rear of the property there is a stepped garden area with stunning views over Aberglaslyn valley, a lovely peaceful space to relax in the picturesque village of Beddgelert which has an abundance of walks surrounded by impressive scenery. The village itself is steeped in history and folk lore. Sygun copper mine is just down the road and is well worth a visit for all ages. The area is considered the adventure capital of Wales and there are an abundance of opportunities for climbing, hiking, walking, cycling and water sports available. You can also ride a steam train on the Welsh Highland Railway to Caernarfon and nearby Porthmadog.

Situated perfectly between mountains and coastline, this wonderful property is perfect for family and friends getting together to explore the many attractions of the area. The ground floor of this property is very accessible as there’s a ramp which gives access through a bedroom on the ground floor, along with a second entry point through another bedroom into the living area.
Tregarth is a traditional Welsh village, originating from the slate mining industry of times gone by, now a friendly village with a traditional welcoming pub. You’ll be positioned perfectly to explore the captivating island of Anglesey which is only a short drive, along with the Snowdonia National Park, which has many walking routes up Mount Snowdon. Only 3 miles away is the action packed Zipworld Penrhyn Quarry with a plethora of activities, along with cafés serving quality food. Also nearby is Penrhyn Castle, a National Trust castle, well worth a visit for all ages. And further down the coast is Conwy, a historic harbour town with UNESCO status castle, town walls and many historic buildings to visit. Beach 9 miles.

Inside Gwel Yr Haul, you’ll find the holiday home has been furnished in a contemporary, minimalist style, with an upside-down layout to take full advantage of the panoramic views from the upstairs rooms. Upstairs the living spaces are open plan, creating a laid-back feel and are fronted by three patio doors which open out onto the balcony so you can fully indulge in the view. There’s a modern kitchen next to the dining/living area with deep, comfy sofas and a cosy gas fire, perfect for relaxing evenings in front of a film or some downtime with a good book. The dining table is positioned in a light-filled spot right in front of the patio doors, a great place to start the day with a delicious breakfast. In addition, there is a cosy snug with a stylish high-backed chair and a selection of books and Xbox one, great for the kids. There are three bedrooms, all on the ground floor sleeping up to eight guests. The master bedroom features a super kingsize bed, with extra single bed and pull-out bed for flexible sleeping, this bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with shower over bath. And the other two are just as comfortable with zip and link super kingsize or twins, as well as a shower room and family bathroom. Step outside into the pretty courtyard and you’ll find more dining space for barbecuing on sunny days, there’s also a handy wetsuit drying area for those who’ve braved a dip in the sea. In the evenings, gather around the table and chairs on the balcony for an after-dinner drink as the sun sets.
The house is located minutes away from Barmouth, when the tide is in you can walk on the promenade, it takes around 20-30 minutes. Wander through town, stopping off at shops and cafés along the way or to one of the restaurants for dinner. Barmouth beach is 100 yards away, accessible by footpath from the house, over a pedestrian railway crossing, the beach varies from vast sandy expanses to pebbles and lovely sand dunes.
