As you first enter, you will find yourself in a handy lobby for storing shoe and coats, then through the traditional oak-braced latched door, you will enter the cosy living room with stunning beams, dining area with log burning stove. The kitchen is off the living room and is well equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment and a wine cooler. On the first floor, you find two bedrooms, a single bedroom with views over the garden plus a spacious kingsize bedroom with beautiful feature beams. Outside, to the rear is a real suntrap of a garden where you can sit out whatever the weather making use of the lovely summer house which has views over the fells.
Visit the pretty town of Appleby, enjoy a tour of the castle or take a trip along the Carlisle to Settle Railway line which stops off in the town. The market town of Penrith is also just a short drive away for a great day out with lots of shops and restaurants. The neighbouring village of Cartmel, with its 12th-century priory and racecourse, is also just under 2 miles away. Almond Cottage is the ideal holiday home for visiting the Lake District National Park. You are not far from any of the main routes around the Lakes, and Lake Windermere is only 9 miles away. Other nearby places include Holker Hall, Sizergh Castle, Grizedale Forest and the Lakeland Motor Museum. Kendal, Bowness and Windermere are 30 minutes away. Skydiving Northwest is in Flookburgh, 2½ miles away, and Grange-over-Sands offers golf. Cycle trails such as the Cartmel Cycle Loop are popular.
