The traditional market town of Keswick is full of narrow streets with independent shops and courtyards and has an abundance of bars, pubs, restaurants, cafés, coffee shops, delis, outdoor shops and every other type of shopping experience you could imagine.

    If you like culture, check out the Theatre by The Lake with award winning arts and drama on the banks of Derwentwater (1 mile) where you can hire a rowing boat or even take a dip if you need to cool down. Broughton has excellent amenities including a selection of local shops, a tourist information centre and petrol station. In and around Broughton you will also find some of the excellent pubs, including several award winners, many offering good quality food alongside their real ales and roaring fires, you will be spoilt for choice as to where to dine out.
    For a family day out there is plenty to offer such as South Lakes Safari Zoo at nearby Dalton, Muncaster Castle with its owl sanctuary, Eskdale Miniature Railway, the Lakes Aquarium and boat trips on Coniston Water and Lake Windermere. You’ll never be short of something to do.
