Guests can venture out on foot and follow the many picturesque walks nearby, which offer beautiful coastal views and lead to sandy coves and beaches. Famous popular Cornish attractions are within easy reach of the property and include The Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan and Restormel Castle. Inside, all is revealed, a superb open-plan living space, with hand-crafted fixtures and fittings throughout. The kitchen is well-equipped, bright, and spacious with its own breakfast bar. The dining area accommodates six guests with ease whilst the living room has quality soft furnishings and sumptuous seating, a lovely wood burner for those chilly evenings, and a generous-sized TV. There is a useful utility room with a washing machine too. The stairs with their stylish black and white banisters lead up to the first floor from where the views become even more impressive. All three bedrooms offer en-suite facilities and underfloor heating; bedroom one has a king-size bed, TV, walk-in shower, and, oh, those sea views! Bedroom two, with its charming mint green colour scheme, has a kingsize zip and link facility, sea views, a quirky sun-funnel, and a walk-in shower. The third bedroom is quite delightful in subtle pink hues, with a double bed, shower, and superb hand-made vanity units. Venture outside and you will find a secluded space with garden furniture, ideal for morning coffee before you set off!
The hot tub is in an idyllic setting with room for eight guests, and offers a wondrous view towards Mevagissey harbour. Then, of course, you have your own sympathetically restored railway carriage! With super lighting and electric sockets. You can take a ferry from Mevagissey to Fowey, an ancient port set within beautiful surroundings and full of charm. Visit St Austell, a town with many amenities and visible links to the once-thriving mining industry here.
The Wheal Martyn Museum is well worth a visit, whilst the world-renowned Eden Project is a short drive away; here huge Biomes protect the world’s largest indoor rainforest and so much more besides! Lower Stables has been lovingly decorated with plenty of character features and quality appliances. With its tiled floor, original ceiling beams and plenty of windows letting the light in the open plan living space is warm and inviting, a great place to spread out and relax after a busy day exploring. The well-equipped kitchen, with Rangemaster cooker is a dream to cook in, why not cook up a holiday feast and dine al fresco! There are three stylishly decorated bedrooms, one double, one twin and one single room. The south-facing patio garden is a real sun trap, fire up the barbeque and enjoy an evening under the stars. All set in a quiet rural location with great access to the delights of the Roseland.
The village of Tregony is often referred to as the ’gateway to the Roseland’. The extensive Fore Street is a relic from the days when this was a busy port and market town with considerable traffic. The port has long since silted up due partly to china clay workings up stream, but Tregony has retained its charm. The magical Lamorran Woods are alive with bluebells in the spring, and you are as likely to pass deer or pheasants as you are motorists along this stretch of the Roseland. The Lost Gardens of Heligan, the Eden Project and the city of Truro are only a short drive away. Heading further into the Roseland, you can find sandy beaches at Pendower, Cream Teas at Mellinsey Mill near Veryan, sailing, and boat trips in St Mawes.
