The village of Thornton-in-Lonsdale is also within reach of the beautiful Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Settle to Carlisle railway, Silverdale and Arnside AONB for a visit to the coast and the stunning Lake District National Park, where there are many watersports and wild swimming opportunities.
