The Croft na Caber Centre, which is a reconstruction of an Iron Age stilt dwelling built over the water is one of the most renowned watersports centres in Scotland. The village hosts regular events, each January there is a ceremony to mark the opening of the salmon fishing season, as the Tay is one of the finest angling rivers, and there is a firework display at New Year. Aberfeldy is only a 20 minutes drive with local interesting independent shops, a supermarket, galleries, eating places, a community run cinema and an award-winning book shop. The famous Dewar’s Whisky Distillery offers tour and sampling and there are riverside walks and white water rafting for the more adventurous. A Highland safari takes you up into the mountains to see local wildlife including deer, peregrine falcons, ospreys and golden eagles.
