Barrowswood, a semi-detached holiday cottage (ref 29842), enjoys commanding views over Cheddar Gorge in the distance. Its large garden adjoins a field with occasional visiting sheep and is the perfect spot in which to relax and unwind. Strawberry Lodge (ref 29841) stands detached at the far end of the grounds of Barrowswood, enjoying woodland surroundings with magnificent views over the field and across to Cheddar Gorge. Blackberry Lodge (ref W44121) is a single-storey, detached lodge, ideal for a romantic retreat for couples. All three properties may be booked together should you have a larger party.
Cheddar village offers plenty of interesting shops and cafes as well as other attractions. Cheddar Gorge, Britain’s largest limestone ravine gouged through the Mendips, is a magnet for climbers, walkers and visitors to the floodlit caves and Cheddar Reservoir is a great place to take a picnic, look out for wildlife and join in activities such as sailing and angling. Axbridge is a charming market town with a medieval square and half-timbered buildings, whilst Wookey Hole attracts many visitors to the showcaves. Wells is England’s smallest city set around a cathedral; Wedmore is a lively town with many individual shops and eateries, Glastonbury is famous for its music festival, spiritual culture and King Arthur legends, and the coastal resorts and magnificent beaches at Weston-super-Mare, Burnham-on-Sea, Berrow and Brean are all within a short drive, as are the cities of Bath and Bristol. Set in the grounds of the owner’s home lies The Studio. This ground floor accommodation is great for two guests, light and airy with a great space outdoors and ideal for alfresco dining. You enter the property into the open plan living space, the living area features a Smart TV and electric fire, perfect for those cosy nights, there is a dining table for two guests to enjoy a home cooked meal that you have rustled up in the well-equipped kitchen. From the living space there is only a few steps to the bedroom where you will find a super kingsize bed to jump into after a busy day exploring, and adjacent to the bedroom is the bathroom with shower.
Outdoors there is a private space for guests to use, which is well lit in the evenings for you to enjoy summer nights with a BBQ and a glass of bubbly. The Studio is in the heart of the village yet tucked away off the main road, and there is private parking for one car.
There is so much to see and do locally, the village of Beckington has three pubs to choose from within walking distance, there is an award-winning café which is just a stone’s throw away, as well as a farm shop with its own restaurant. Every Tuesday in the village hall car park there is a mobile pizza van, or you can take a stroll to the local fish and chip shop.

Just three miles from The Studio is Frome, a bustling market town with weekly markets and an ever-growing popular monthly market that takes over the town centre. There are cobbled, pedestrianised streets with rivulets running down, and an array of cafés, individual shops, leisure, and entertainment. Within 10 miles you can experience the Georgian city of Bath with its famous architecture, the Jane Austen Centre, and thermal spa (Thermae), the city offers something for everybody. The Roman Baths, The Royal Crescent, the famous Pulteney Bridge, and the Christmas markets are among the city’s many must see attractions.

The elegant kitchen has a solid quartz worktop, and everything you will need to prepare a simple meal while staying here. The stunning shower room is finished with black Lusso fittings and has a wonderful Italian stone basin. As hard as it will be to tear yourself away from The Cosy Cabin, there is a plethora of things to do nearby. From the beaches of Weston-super-Mare and Burnham, to the old fashioned pier and town of Clevedon, or the modern marina at Portishead with its harbourside restaurants, perfect for al fresco dining. Only 12 minutes away, you have the city of Bristol with its wonderful shopping centres, fabulous mix of restaurants and bars, sports stadiums and museums. For a dose of history, why not head to Bath and marvel at the architecture, walk the cobbled streets, or enjoy a day at the Thermae Spa? Cheddar Gorge and Caves are within easy reach; sample some local cheddar, climb Jacobs Ladder or walk through the gorge and spot mountain goats on the rocks! Beach 3½ miles.

When you arrive at The Malthouse a heavy oak door leads you into the original cart-way. From the cart-way, go down into the lower ground floor utility room, here you will find an extra fridge, washer and dryer. Also just off the original cart-way is a bedroom with a bathroom adjacent. A spacious open plan kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is stylish and handmade with all the modern appliances you’d expect. The dining area has a large, impressive Bath stone fireplace in front of the long pine dining table. Heavy curtains and underfloor heating keep you warm in the winter months whilst stone floors, lime washed walls and ancient beams reflect its historic character.


On the ground floor the sitting room and the garden room, both comfortable and thoughtfully furnished. The sitting room has an inglenook fireplace with a wood burner, ideal on colder days. Walk through the cosy sitting room to the airy pitch-roofed garden room and enjoy views of the garden and countryside from the window seats. Climb the turret stairway to the first floor where there are four bedrooms and two bathrooms. The bedrooms are large and elegant with crisp Egyptian cotton linen and fluffy towels, side tables, soft furnishings, and comfy chairs. Up another turret stairway to the second floor with another bathroom and a further two bedrooms, one with a unique view of the ancient malthouse roof structure through a floor-to-ceiling glass window. There’s a generous open courtyard and a large garden with lawn and lavender lined path. Guests can enjoy al fresco dining; there are large tables with benches and chairs, a large comfy sofa and plenty of blankets to lay on the grass. A range of outdoor games including table tennis are provided.


Grade II listed, The Malthouse is steeped in history with some parts dating back to the 14th and 15th centuries and is quirky in many ways with uneven steps and floors, all of which contribute to the character of the building. The owners just ask that you take care whilst you experience living in a historic house! The property is in an outstanding location. The city of Bath needs no introduction and is a 15-minute drive (or catch the bus from the village).


If you want to enjoy all this World Heritage Site has to offer while staying in a quintessential English village away from the hustle and bustle, Norton St. Philip is the perfect spot. It has its own dramatic history to investigate, including the site of the Pitchfork Rebellion in 1686. The stunning George Inn next door is one of the country’s oldest and has been the resting place of queens and kings dating back to the 15th century. Other world-class attractions nearby include Longleat House and Safari Park, Stonehenge, Glastonbury, and the National Trust’s Stourhead. Don’t miss other places of interest including the Hauser and Wirth art gallery in Bruton, Iford Manor’s Peto Garden and the pretty market town of Bradford-on-Avon. The kitchen area has a breakfast bar with stools and is the perfect spot for a meal at any time of day. Head through to the large bedroom where you will find a double bed, statement lighting and an en-suite shower room. Outside, the private courtyard has a charming seating area to enjoy after a busy day exploring the area and a great place for a chilled glass of your favourite tipple!
Set in the village of Brent Knoll, there is a local pub just a short walk away or jump in the car where you will find a lovely carvery pub, large garden centre with coffee shop and petrol station with a convenience store. Just under 3 miles away you have the seaside town of Burnham on Sea with its many shops and eateries as well as the beach to explore. For some culture, you have the city of Bath with its historic centre and Roman architecture. The famous Cheddar Gorge is within a short drive where you will see mountain goats in the gorge or enjoy some locally made cheddar cheese!

Welcome to The Hollies, a wonderful one bedroom bungalow set in the village of Uphill, just outside Weston-Super-Mare and with Uphill beach just a few minutes walk away.
Inside this bright and airy bungalow, the kitchen is well equipped with a fridge/freezer, electric hob and oven, washing machine and microwave as well as a fabulous breakfast bar. The spacious living room has comfortable seating and Smart TV while the dining room has patio doors leading out to the conservatory. The large bedroom has a double bed, large wardrobes and picture window that looks out over the garden, the bathroom has a bath with a shower over and heated towel rail. Outside, the rear garden is fully enclosed and has a large lawn with seating areas to enjoy, your four legged family members will have great fun here!
Uphill has a wonderful year round dog friendly beach and local shop for essentials, while the hospital is nearby. Weston-Super-Mare is a traditional seaside town on the north Somerset Coastline, jam packed with fun things to do such as donkey rides on the beach, wander along the grand pier and enjoy the arcades, grab some fish and chips or enjoy one of the many bars and restaurants in the town centre or along the seafront, which also has many shops to explore. Why not jump on the train and head off to the bright lights of Bath or Bristol for a dose of city life for a day. The ancient medieval town of Glastonbury, with its wonderfully eclectic shops and famous Tor makes for a fabulous day out or bag yourself a bargain on a visit to Clarks Village in Street, with its many designer outlets to enjoy! Moorlands is a wonderful holiday home located in the charming village of Chilcompton, refurbished in 2022 to provide luxurious accommodation, perfect for all the family!


Pull into your driveway where Moorlands awaits you, step inside the hallway where the vaulted double height ceiling floods the room with light. There is a piano and reading nook to be enjoyed here.


The spacious living, dining and kitchen areas are open plan with wonderful views from the large patio doors over the garden. The living area has stunning feature wallpaper, lighting, comfortable yet stylish seating and an awesome real flame gas fireplace.


The dining area has a large table with ample seating and statement lighting while the fabulous well-equipped kitchen which includes a boiling water tap, wine fridge and designer extractor, shows the high level of fixtures and fittings you can expect. Also on the ground floor is a double bedroom with en-suite facilities, and a door leading to the garden with a terrace, perfect for your morning cuppa.


A utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer can be found on the ground floor.


Upstairs there are 4 bedrooms which all lead off the galleried landing, one is a super king size bed which can be twin beds on request, one with a king size bed, one with double bed and another with double bed and single bunk on top. The two family bathrooms can be found on this floor, one with a large walk-in shower and the other, a large walk-in shower and stunning stone pebble shaped bath. Both bathrooms have been finished to the highest standard and offer luxury living. A hot tub can be hired (at a cost) with prior arrangement with the owner giving an extra feel of luxury to enjoy a little bit of R&R.


Heading outside, the extremely large garden is mainly laid to lawn, with 2 wonderful seating areas to enjoy. There is space for all the family to play endless games while around the side is a lovely vegetable garden which guests are welcome to use, and a hot and cold dog wash is provided for your convenience. A beautiful river runs around the garden of the property and care has been taken to enclose the garden, but children and animals should be supervised at all times.


Set between the cities of Bath and Wells, you will never tire of things to do while staying here! Bath with its fabulous architecture, riverside cafes, boutique shops and spas is a delightful day out, as is England’s smallest cathedral city of Wells with its outdoor market, cafés, and restaurants. Glastonbury is within easy reach with its ancient medieval charm and Tor, where you can see for miles and miles from the top. Head to Street’s designer outlet, Clarks Village, and grab a bargain.
