Barrowswood, a semi-detached holiday cottage (ref 29842), enjoys commanding views over Cheddar Gorge in the distance. Its large garden adjoins a field with occasional visiting sheep and is the perfect spot in which to relax and unwind. Strawberry Lodge (ref 29841) stands detached at the far end of the grounds of Barrowswood, enjoying woodland surroundings with magnificent views over the field and across to Cheddar Gorge. Blackberry Lodge (ref W44121) is a single-storey, detached lodge, ideal for a romantic retreat for couples. All three properties may be booked together should you have a larger party.
Cheddar village offers plenty of interesting shops and cafes as well as other attractions. Cheddar Gorge, Britain’s largest limestone ravine gouged through the Mendips, is a magnet for climbers, walkers and visitors to the floodlit caves and Cheddar Reservoir is a great place to take a picnic, look out for wildlife and join in activities such as sailing and angling. Axbridge is a charming market town with a medieval square and half-timbered buildings, whilst Wookey Hole attracts many visitors to the showcaves. Wells is England’s smallest city set around a cathedral; Wedmore is a lively town with many individual shops and eateries, Glastonbury is famous for its music festival, spiritual culture and King Arthur legends, and the coastal resorts and magnificent beaches at Weston-super-Mare, Burnham-on-Sea, Berrow and Brean are all within a short drive, as are the cities of Bath and Bristol. It is perfect as a peaceful couple’s retreat or those seeking adventurous walks. The property comprises open plan accommodation with each section partially sub-divided, including a kitchenette with a combination microwave/oven, 2-ring hob, a breakfast bar, seating area, a bedroom with a kingsize bed and a shower room with additional seating. Outside you will find parking for one car and a seating/dining area which is shared with the owners although they are unlikely to use it in the evenings during your stay.
The location makes a wonderful base from which to explore this stunning region. There is an abundance of attractions including the West Somerset Steam Railway at Bishops Lydeard, the Museum of Somerset in Taunton, just 10 miles away, Dunster, Minehead, and beautiful Exmoor National Park with its magical night skies in Europe’s first ’Dark Sky Reserve’, just 20 minutes away. There are numerous National Trust properties including Dunster Castle, Fyne Court, Coleridge Cottage, Montacute and Knightshayes. You can also enjoy fantastic country pubs in the region and the town of Wiveliscombe is under 2 miles away, where you’ll find shops, post office, restaurants, pubs and banking facilities.

Tucked away in the corner of the owner’s large garden, yet fully private, you walk down to the cabin through a sloped woodland walkway. The Cosy Cabin has a beautiful decked area to the front with stylish garden furniture, sun loungers and a simply stunning outdoor cast iron roll-top bath so you can lay back, soak away your stresses and gaze at the stars.
Inside, every effort has been taken to ensure that The Cosy Cabin is unique, with carefully selected pieces of furniture that span the decades, mixing 50s and 60s style with today’s modern comforts to create a welcoming and relaxing space. The living, kitchen and dining area are open plan with eco-friendly bamboo flooring throughout. With the living area having a gorgeous, handcrafted sofa made here in Britain, art from a renowned local artist, electric wood burner effect fire and Smart TV. The elegant kitchen has a solid quartz worktop, and everything you will need to prepare a simple meal while staying here. The stunning shower room is finished with black Lusso fittings and has a wonderful Italian stone basin. As hard as it will be to tear yourself away from The Cosy Cabin, there is a plethora of things to do nearby. From the beaches of Weston-super-Mare and Burnham, to the old fashioned pier and town of Clevedon, or the modern marina at Portishead with its harbourside restaurants, perfect for al fresco dining. Only 12 minutes away, you have the city of Bristol with its wonderful shopping centres, fabulous mix of restaurants and bars, sports stadiums and museums. For a dose of history, why not head to Bath and marvel at the architecture, walk the cobbled streets, or enjoy a day at the Thermae Spa? Cheddar Gorge and Caves are within easy reach; sample some local cheddar, climb Jacobs Ladder or walk through the gorge and spot mountain goats on the rocks! Beach 3½ miles.

When you arrive at The Malthouse a heavy oak door leads you into the original cart-way. From the cart-way, go down into the lower ground floor utility room, here you will find an extra fridge, washer and dryer. Also just off the original cart-way is a bedroom with a bathroom adjacent. A spacious open plan kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is stylish and handmade with all the modern appliances you’d expect. The dining area has a large, impressive Bath stone fireplace in front of the long pine dining table. Heavy curtains and underfloor heating keep you warm in the winter months whilst stone floors, lime washed walls and ancient beams reflect its historic character.


On the ground floor the sitting room and the garden room, both comfortable and thoughtfully furnished. The sitting room has an inglenook fireplace with a wood burner, ideal on colder days. Walk through the cosy sitting room to the airy pitch-roofed garden room and enjoy views of the garden and countryside from the window seats. Climb the turret stairway to the first floor where there are four bedrooms and two bathrooms. The bedrooms are large and elegant with crisp Egyptian cotton linen and fluffy towels, side tables, soft furnishings, and comfy chairs. Up another turret stairway to the second floor with another bathroom and a further two bedrooms, one with a unique view of the ancient malthouse roof structure through a floor-to-ceiling glass window. There’s a generous open courtyard and a large garden with lawn and lavender lined path. Guests can enjoy al fresco dining; there are large tables with benches and chairs, a large comfy sofa and plenty of blankets to lay on the grass. A range of outdoor games including table tennis are provided.


Grade II listed, The Malthouse is steeped in history with some parts dating back to the 14th and 15th centuries and is quirky in many ways with uneven steps and floors, all of which contribute to the character of the building. The owners just ask that you take care whilst you experience living in a historic house! The property is in an outstanding location. The city of Bath needs no introduction and is a 15-minute drive (or catch the bus from the village).


If you want to enjoy all this World Heritage Site has to offer while staying in a quintessential English village away from the hustle and bustle, Norton St. Philip is the perfect spot. It has its own dramatic history to investigate, including the site of the Pitchfork Rebellion in 1686. The stunning George Inn next door is one of the country’s oldest and has been the resting place of queens and kings dating back to the 15th century. Other world-class attractions nearby include Longleat House and Safari Park, Stonehenge, Glastonbury, and the National Trust’s Stourhead. Don’t miss other places of interest including the Hauser and Wirth art gallery in Bruton, Iford Manor’s Peto Garden and the pretty market town of Bradford-on-Avon. There are countless other National Trust properties, quaint villages, Neolithic sites, and ancient churches to explore.

Welcome to The Stables, a fabulous cottage newly renovated in 2022 to provide a wonderful relaxing retreat, perfect for your next holiday in Somerset. Inside you have a spacious open plan living space, with beamed ceilings and tasteful furnishings including a comfortable sofa to chill out on and a Smart TV so you can catch up on your favourite streaming shows. The kitchen area has a breakfast bar with stools and is the perfect spot for a meal at any time of day. Head through to the large bedroom where you will find a double bed, statement lighting and an en-suite shower room. Outside, the private courtyard has a charming seating area to enjoy after a busy day exploring the area and a great place for a chilled glass of your favourite tipple!
Set in the village of Brent Knoll, there is a local pub just a short walk away or jump in the car where you will find a lovely carvery pub, large garden centre with coffee shop and petrol station with a convenience store. Just under 3 miles away you have the seaside town of Burnham on Sea with its many shops and eateries as well as the beach to explore. For some culture, you have the city of Bath with its historic centre and Roman architecture. The famous Cheddar Gorge is within a short drive where you will see mountain goats in the gorge or enjoy some locally made cheddar cheese!

Welcome to The Hollies, a wonderful one bedroom bungalow set in the village of Uphill, just outside Weston-Super-Mare and with Uphill beach just a few minutes walk away.
Inside this bright and airy bungalow, the kitchen is well equipped with a fridge/freezer, electric hob and oven, washing machine and microwave as well as a fabulous breakfast bar. The spacious living room has comfortable seating and Smart TV while the dining room has patio doors leading out to the conservatory. The large bedroom has a double bed, large wardrobes and picture window that looks out over the garden, the bathroom has a bath with a shower over and heated towel rail. Outside, the rear garden is fully enclosed and has a large lawn with seating areas to enjoy, your four legged family members will have great fun here!
Uphill has a wonderful year round dog friendly beach and local shop for essentials, while the hospital is nearby. Weston-Super-Mare is a traditional seaside town on the north Somerset Coastline, jam packed with fun things to do such as donkey rides on the beach, wander along the grand pier and enjoy the arcades, grab some fish and chips or enjoy one of the many bars and restaurants in the town centre or along the seafront, which also has many shops to explore. Why not jump on the train and head off to the bright lights of Bath or Bristol for a dose of city life for a day. The ancient medieval town of Glastonbury, with its wonderfully eclectic shops and famous Tor makes for a fabulous day out or bag yourself a bargain on a visit to Clarks Village in Street, with its many designer outlets to enjoy! Moorlands is a wonderful holiday home located in the charming village of Chilcompton, refurbished in 2022 to provide luxurious accommodation, perfect for all the family!


Pull into your driveway where Moorlands awaits you, step inside the hallway where the vaulted double height ceiling floods the room with light. There is a piano and reading nook to be enjoyed here.


The spacious living, dining and kitchen areas are open plan with wonderful views from the large patio doors over the garden. The living area has stunning feature wallpaper, lighting, comfortable yet stylish seating and an awesome real flame gas fireplace.


The dining area has a large table with ample seating and statement lighting while the fabulous well-equipped kitchen which includes a boiling water tap, wine fridge and designer extractor, shows the high level of fixtures and fittings you can expect. Also on the ground floor is a double bedroom with en-suite facilities, and a door leading to the garden with a terrace, perfect for your morning cuppa.


A utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer can be found on the ground floor.


Upstairs there are 4 bedrooms which all lead off the galleried landing, one is a super king size bed which can be twin beds on request, one with a king size bed, one with double bed and another with double bed and single bunk on top. The two family bathrooms can be found on this floor, one with a large walk-in shower and the other, a large walk-in shower and stunning stone pebble shaped bath. Both bathrooms have been finished to the highest standard and offer luxury living. A hot tub can be hired (at a cost) with prior arrangement with the owner giving an extra feel of luxury to enjoy a little bit of R&R.


Heading outside, the extremely large garden is mainly laid to lawn, with 2 wonderful seating areas to enjoy. There is space for all the family to play endless games while around the side is a lovely vegetable garden which guests are welcome to use, and a hot and cold dog wash is provided for your convenience. A beautiful river runs around the garden of the property and care has been taken to enclose the garden, but children and animals should be supervised at all times.


Set between the cities of Bath and Wells, you will never tire of things to do while staying here! Bath with its fabulous architecture, riverside cafes, boutique shops and spas is a delightful day out, as is England’s smallest cathedral city of Wells with its outdoor market, cafés, and restaurants. Glastonbury is within easy reach with its ancient medieval charm and Tor, where you can see for miles and miles from the top. Head to Street’s designer outlet, Clarks Village, and grab a bargain. Wookey Hole Caves are a great day out for all the family and Cheddar Gorge and caves makes for a great day and has cheese, what more could you ask for! Pub and restaurant 704 yards.
