Hurst Green is a pretty, popular village, surrounded by picture-perfect countryside. There’s much interest in the village itself, from the historic Almshouses opposite the cottage to the spectacular Stonyhurst College, just around the corner. The area is rich in wildlife, home to a variety of flora in the hedgerows, and small herds of wild deer living in the woods and you’ll hear a symphony of birdsong as you walk the local paths. J. R. On a clear day you will be able to see the whole of the Ribble Valley and as far as the Yorkshire Dales to the North and Morecambe Bay to the West. Other nearby attractions include the Bowland Wild Boar Park, the breathtaking Whalley Arches, and the National Trust-owned property of Gawthorpe Hall, or head to the coast and spend a day at the seaside resort of Blackpool or Lytham St. Annes.
