    Dolphin Cottage is a traditional terraced property comprising three bedrooms - a double, a twin and a bunk (top bunk for children only) on the first floor plus a family bathroom with bath and shower attachment. On the ground floor you will find a comfortable living room with a Smart TV and a separate dining room. The well-equipped kitchen includes a washer/dryer and there’s a door here that leads to an enclosed rear garden with seating and outdoor dining facilities. Being enclosed the garden is also perfect for dogs. Parking is unallocated but usually available directly outside the property for one family car. There is an inexpensive car park within walking distance which is free after 18:00.
    Braunton is a large village, some say the largest in the UK, with everything you need locally and is the gateway to some of the finest award-winning surfing beaches in the country such as Saunton Sands, Croyde, Putsborough and Woolacombe which are all within easy reach by car. If surfing, rock pooling, walking in the dunes or simply lazing on the beach is your thing, then look no further than these stunning locations. Braunton is considered as the major hub of the immediate area and has a good selection of regular and boutique shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants, including one of the country’s best fish and chips restaurants! As the centre of the North Devon surf scene, Braunton is also home to the Museum of British Surfing and some great surfers’ shops.
    Fabulous Saunton Sands is a great expanse of sandy beach (regularly used as a filming location for movies and videos) with exceptional sand dunes behind it, known as Braunton Burrows, the largest sand dune system in England. Walkers and runners love the dunes and it is also great for dogs. Saunton Golf Club is under 3 miles away and the Tarka Trail, which allows you to enjoy some of Devon’s finest countryside and river scenery, is just around the corner and follows a disused railway line and is loved by cyclists, runners and walkers alike.
    Further afield you can enjoy exploring more of North Devon and all its attractions such as Exmoor National Park, home of the first ‘Dark Sky Reserve’ in Europe, Valley of the Rocks, the many rugged coastal towns and quaint villages such as Lynton and Lynmouth, Ilfracombe, Hartland and the world-famous Clovelly Village – all with awe-inspiring scenery. This delightful cottage has been fitted and furnished to a great standard, offering the perfect bolt hole for a family or a couple’s retreat, with the beach at Budleigh Salterton (which forms part of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage site) just a short car journey from your front door.

    Knowle Cottage can accommodate up to four guests in its two double bedrooms. The living room has a three-seater settee and a two-seater settee which doubles as a sofa bed to accommodate an extra guest if needed. Each of the bedrooms contains a built-in wardrobe and a table with a mirror. The shower room is located upstairs opposite the bedrooms, and comprises of a double shower cubicle, a wash basin, toilet and a heated towel rail. Knowle Cottage benefits from two allocated parking spaces and a private garden at the top end of the car park. There are also extensive areas of communal open space.
    Colaton Raleigh boasts a village shop and a pub, along with a Church and Community Centre in Church Road, which leads down to the River Otter. The Regency town of Sidmouth is around 5 miles from the cottage, and apart from its magnificent red cliffs and beach, boasts a variety of individual shops, pubs and restaurants, a cinema and public gardens. Budleigh Salterton is approx. 3½ miles away; its beach provided the setting for Millais’ famous painting ’The Boyhood of Raleigh’. If you travel from the cottage 1 mile along the main road towards Budleigh Salterton you will come to Bicton Park, with its world heritage botanical gardens; this it is well worth a visit. The 157/ 357 bus service to Sidmouth stops at Colaton Raleigh from a stop near the village shop, and to Budleigh Salterton and Exmouth from the stop opposite, on the other side of the Exmouth road. The nearest railway stations are at Exmouth and Honiton.
    Ideally located for a peaceful getaway and central to Exeter, Exmouth and Sidmouth, you can enjoy a variety of beaches and coves along the south coast. Explore the many visitor attractions including Crealy Adventure Park and Quad World. Must see areas include historic Exeter, Escot Park, and the seaside resort of Exmouth, with its magnificent sandy beach and cliff top walks with stunning views of the bay, sand dunes, rock pools and seaside attractions.
