The island has become a real hot spot for cycling enthusiasts with a choice of challenging off road bridleways, peaceful byways and level purpose-made tracks running along its former railway lines. Cycle to the famous Needles landmark or take on the full round the island route, which is 66 miles long and is used for the annual Isle of Wight Randonnee. A utility room and downstairs toilet are also provided for your convenience. The Farmhouse is a perfect base to relax, unwind in and explore this unique corner of Britain. With many attractions, countryside and seaside resorts, there is definitely something for everyone. If you want to stay local, the beautiful Brook Bay is a 2-minute drive away and the sunsets on this side of the island are a must see, just stunning.
Osborne House was once Queen Victoria’s favourite residence and is now open to the public and well worth a visit, as are Carisbrook Castle, The Needles rock formations, Robin Hill park with acres of parkland, natural woodland, countryside gardens, adventures and special events, Ventnor Botanical Gardens and Shanklin Chine, a deep wooded gorge with streams and waterfalls. The model village at Godshill is also not to be missed as this gives a good overview of the island and its attractions, all in miniature of course.
