The property provides accommodation over two floors. On the ground level there is a comfortable living room with wood burner and a generous dining room and kitchen. Refitted in 2020 to high modern standards the kitchen provides everything needed to base yourself as a family or group in Heron House. The dining area is spacious and comfortable, ideal for a family. On the upper floor you will find all three bedrooms. Sleeping six comfortably, the bedrooms vary in size slightly although all are well proportioned and the master bedroom enjoys a stunning sea view. The bathroom completes the accommodation with a four piece suite including an elevated double shower.
The property is exceptionally well located to enjoy the surrounding facilities throughout Northumbria and South Scotland. Within 100 yards of the property is a riding school and there are various walks available through the beautify countryside from the steading. The historic town of Berwick-upon-Tweed is approximately 3 miles away, with the Elizabethan town walls, well worth strolling arounds. Berwick has a thriving compliment of restaurant and pubs – you may be surprised to learn that ‘Lowry’ painted many pictures of the area. This park of Northumberland is famed for the spectacular coastline beached with views of the turbulent past within close proximity. Unmissable places to visit include Holy Island of Lindisfarne, Bamburgh Castle and Chillingham Castle. Edinburgh is 60 miles away, as is Newcastle. The Cheviot Hills are close by with numerous walking routes, whilst the Scottish Border is within 5 miles and the pretty coastal village of Eyemouth is less than a 20-minute drive. If you are lucky, you might be able to see the dolphins in the harbour.

A short drive South and you will discover the many castles that flourish in this part of the country. These two are lived in today, but you can also visit the beautiful ruins of Lindisfarne on Holy Island, Dunstanburgh and Warkworth.
Inland a trip to the Borders will be equally rewarding for its scenery and history. LNER runs a mainline route through Berwick train station, a 15 minute easy walk, you are an hour from Edinburgh or Newcastle and a comfortable four and a half from London. A fairly well-equipped kitchen has a little utility area off to the side to allow for that extra little bit of practical space you always need. Of course we always hope for great weather when we are away from home but if the weather isn’t great there is an open fire for those cold and grim days. This really is a fabulous property to spend your break.
