The Coach House and Coachman’s Cottage are two stunning luxury properties located on a private estate in Sandwich Bay, Kent. The normal admission charge for visitors will be waived for all guests staying here, so you can enjoy the rural beach for as long as you wish. Surrounded by beautiful countryside these properties are adjacent to the owner’s home, on a working farm, which makes them a perfect countryside retreat. Next door is the Sandwich Bay Bird Observatory which can be used to spot many species of birds throughout the year. The Coach House (ref UKC2772) is a large barn conversion which can accommodate up to eight guests; it features Wi-Fi, a wood burner, and a large open plan living area. The spacious enclosed garden is perfect for the summer with seating and a gas barbecue. Coachman’s Cottage (ref UKC2773) is a quaint countryside cottage, accommodating four guests this property also offers Wi-Fi and open plan living, with a small enclosed courtyard with seating and barbecue for the summer months.
Nearby attractions include three championship golf courses, and includes Royal St George’s which will be hosting The Open in 2020. Sandwich Bay boasts a beautiful beach which is within walking distance. Fishing is also available locally. The nearby quiet medieval town of Sandwich has a delightful range of local shops, cafés, restaurants and pubs. The railway station in Sandwich offers a high speed service into London, plus the opportunity to visit France from either Dover or Folkestone with the Eurostar or ferry. Built in the 1880s The Old Guesthouse has been in the same family for 75 years. Previously a traditional Margate guesthouse, it is ideally proportioned for a comfortable and stylish holiday experience, accommodating eight people comfortably with an extra two in the lovely loft room. Having closed as a guest house in the late 1980s, the house has been lavishly restored and renovated and now welcomes guests again for the first time in 2021. From 1945 until 1988, literally thousands of people used the house as the base for their family seaside holiday and the family are thrilled to be able to offer the house again as a perfect holiday retreat.
Ideally located for all that Margate has to offer, the famous Golden Mile beach is a stone’s throw away. The old town, with its array of shops, cafés, restaurants and the Turner Contemprory is a 10 minute walk along the iconic sea front. Dreamland, England’s oldest amusement park is a five minute walk and the local shops at Westbrook are literally just around the corner!
Guests will find a welcome pack, including the all important pods for the coffee machine, a bottle of wine and other local treats.

The living/dining room features a double sided wood burner, creating the perfect ambience for cosy evenings in, whether you are sitting at the dining table planning the week’s activities with a glass of wine or relaxing on the beautiful sofas that bring a vibrant pop of colour against the rustic wooden walls. The countryside kitchen boasts hand built wooden units, original barn flooring and chunky wooden worktops, with a butchers block island ideal for socialising whilst a hearty meal is being prepared. Here, Bi-folding doors lead out to the undercover gazebo and then out to the garden.
After a day of exploring the countryside, what better way to unwind than in the stunning freestanding bath, or warming walk-in rain shower. Split over two floors are 3 individually styled bedrooms, ideal for couples or extended families holidaying together. On the ground floor, is a peaceful double bedroom, with rustic beamed walls complimented with a splash of deep green paint and sumptuous padded headboard. Upstairs, the further bedrooms are each accessed by their own separate staircase from the living area. Behind wooden shutter doors sits a navy padded double bed; lit with industrial, hanging bedside lights, whilst on the other side of the living area steps lead up to a quirky family suite. Here, two single pods and a double bed sitting above on a mezzanine level, accessed from the rear via open-tread steps. There is also a games area in this room, complete with PlayStation 4.
Come summer or winter, the covered and spacious outside courtyard features a Kadai firepit, the ideal spot for a warming glass of red/hot chocolate, cooking a BBQ or even a curry for an all year round al fresco dining experience. An additional charcoal barbecue is also available for further relaxation in the sunshine during the summer. For those competitive members of the family, the table tennis will be sure to provide hours of entertainment. This is the perfect place for a special party, and although the property only sleeps 8, the owner is happy to welcome extra guests during the day to celebrate with those who are staying.
Nestled in a picturesque spot in the Kent countryside, the historic market town of Faversham can be reached in 15-minutes by car and offers creekside walks and an array of independent shops and restaurants. The Old Shire Barn is set amongst rolling farmland and countryside, surrounded by apple, pear and cherry orchards. Peaceful countryside walks await, with a choice of circular walks nearby each leading to friendly pubs; all of which welcome four legged friends. Located on the border of Kent, London and Essex, Dartford is one of the most exciting and dynamic towns in the county and shopaholics will find plenty to occupy themselves at Bluewater Shopping Centre, which is within easy reach. In Dartford itself you can find many local gems, including regular markets on Thursdays and Saturdays and farmers’ markets in the third Friday of every month. Multiple London mainline stations less than an hour away and Gravesend is 15 minutes away, where you can hop on a high-speed train to London St Pancreas or Ashford International.
Dartford is also well-connected to the Medway Towns and has plenty to offer as a town with religious and cultural importance with its many charming churches and museums. Bluewater Shopping Centre, one of the largest malls in Europe, is a major attraction nearby. Catch a bus from Dartford centre to reach the Bluewater mall east of town, browse more than 300 stores, then enjoy the mall’s many attractions. Play mini golf and ride pedalos on a man-made lake at the Pirate Cove Adventure Park. Parents can take a break at the Bluewater mall’s day spam, then head back into Dartford to visit The Mick Jagger Centre, which hosts community arts performances and live music concerts.
