Situated in a tranquil valley on the owners’ working sheep and goat farm overlooking a forest and fields with deer and wildlife wandering past, and surrounded by quiet country lanes. Slade Barn has a lovely outlook, and the semi-detached barn conversion has accommodation on two levels with twin open staircases leading up to the first floor where you’ll find a nice little reading area, a twin bedroom and a shower room on one side and two further bedrooms on the other. The fourth bedroom is en-suite and on the ground floor. The kitchen area has everything you’ll need for your stay, whilst the ground floor benefits from underfloor heating. Outside there’s an ample private lawn and patio garden with outdoor furniture.
    The village of Brayford is 2 miles from the cottage with its 900-year-old Church of All Saints High Bray set on the hill above the Bray Valley. There are also many charming village pubs and restaurants to explore nearby. The village is close to the dramatic North Devon coast with some of the best beaches in the country – a day trip to Woolacombe and Saunton are not to be missed. The South West coastal path and the Tarka Trail are superb for walking or running and the latter is excellent for cycling too; the coastline is varied, dramatic and interesting to say the least. RHS Rosemoor, Marwood Gardens, Arlington Court, Clovelly, Exmoor Zoo, the Combe Martin Dinosaur Park and Hartland Abbey are all within driving distance and for the keen golfers, Portmore Golf club just outside Barnstaple and Saunton Golf club are both within easy reach too. Visit the National Trust’s Watersmeet Gorge, Valley of the Rocks and the funicular cliff railway in Lynton/Lynmouth. Up on Exmoor, there are various walks to suit all abilities, as well as pretty places worth visiting including Tarr Steps, Landacre Bridge and the charming little village of Withypool, not to mention the dark star gazing skies on the moors.
