Further north and you are over the border into Devon where Clovelly is well worth a visit. The property adjoins another house, although the garden and driveway shown in the photos is exclusive to Skyber Barnacott.
    The closest village to Skyber Barnacott is Kilkhampton which dates back to before Saxon times. There you can find the remains of a 12th century motte and bailey style Norman castle. The church of St James the Great is over 450 years old. Both of the two pubs in the village the New Inn and London Inn serve food. Beach 4⅓ miles.

    Squires is a lovely and extremely spacious, two bedroom, dog-friendly holiday home with accommodation on two levels for four people. The comfortable living room has a TV/DVD with French doors leading out to the garden. The very spacious and bright kitchen/dining room has all you’ll need for your stay including a washer/dryer and dishwasher. There’s a kingsize room upstairs with sloping ceilings, a large skylight and a TV, plus a handy en-suite toilet and a twin bedroom downstairs with an adjacent bathroom with bath and shower over. Outside there is a lovely lawned garden with countryside views and furniture and the added luxury of a private hot tub where you can enjoy evenings of star gazing. There is also a handy handheld dog shower and ample parking available on-site.
    The sleepy village of Marhamchurch with its thatch and cob cottages is under 2 miles away and has an excellent community spirit and is a short drive from Bude. If it’s the beach you want with miles of sand, swimming and surf then you’ll be spoiled for choice. Much of the coastline in this area is owned by the National Trust and is a haven for wildlife, providing fabulous walking opportunities.     Roof Tops is situated on the edge of the village of Stratton, a peaceful location with countryside all around.
