Bude, EnglandThis is a beautiful single level barn conversion, extremely well presented with all modern amenities, exposed beams, a wood burning stove, a spacious garden and plenty of parking. The open plan living space has an elegant, yet homely feel. The main bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and the second bedroom also has an en-suite which is also accessed from the hallway.
Situated just north of Bude with fabulous access to all of the glorious beaches including Northcott Mouth beach and Sandymouth a bit further to the north, both of which have glorious expanses of golden sand at low tide. Bude itself has a wealth of restaurants, pubs, cafés, and galleries, a great playground and interesting canal. Further north and you are over the border into Devon where Clovelly is well worth a visit. The property adjoins another house, although the garden and driveway shown in the photos is exclusive to Skyber Barnacott.
The closest village to Skyber Barnacott is Kilkhampton which dates back to before Saxon times. There you can find the remains of a 12th century motte and bailey style Norman castle. The church of St James the Great is over 450 years old. Both of the two pubs in the village the New Inn and London Inn serve food. The comfortable living room has a TV/DVD with French doors leading out to the garden. The very spacious and bright kitchen/dining room has all you’ll need for your stay including a washer/dryer and dishwasher. There’s a kingsize room upstairs with sloping ceilings, a large skylight and a TV, plus a handy en-suite toilet and a twin bedroom downstairs with an adjacent bathroom with bath and shower over. Outside there is a lovely lawned garden with countryside views and furniture and the added luxury of a private hot tub where you can enjoy evenings of star gazing. There is also a handy handheld dog shower and ample parking available on-site.
The sleepy village of Marhamchurch with its thatch and cob cottages is under 2 miles away and has an excellent community spirit and is a short drive from Bude. If it’s the beach you want with miles of sand, swimming and surf then you’ll be spoiled for choice. Much of the coastline in this area is owned by the National Trust and is a haven for wildlife, providing fabulous walking opportunities. There are many pretty coves and inlets to discover within a short drive of this cottage including Crackington Haven, Boscastle, Morwenstow and stunning Tintagel, inextricably linked to the legend of King Arthur. Further afield the fishing port of Padstow is a popular tourist destination.

This superb conversion has been completed to the highest of standards and features reverse style Accommodation with open plan living space on the first floor to take advantage of the character of the old beams and the stunning views over the countryside to Widemouth. The Owners have converted Roof Tops with great attention to detail with wood flooring and granite work tops in the kitchen and en-suite shower rooms for both bedrooms. There is a cosy gas wood burner for the colder months. There is a great patio and a private garden area with a small lawned area. Both bedrooms have French doors opening onto the slate tiled patio.
Roof Tops is situated on the edge of the village of Stratton, a peaceful location with countryside all around. Stratton has two local pubs serving excellent food and a post office, all within a 5-minute walk. The village is just over 1 mile from the coastal town of Bude with extensive sandy beaches, sea swimming pool, leisure centre, surfing and a wide variety of shops, pubs and restaurants. There is also a range of golf courses in the vicinity. Stratton is a great base from which to explore many of Cornwall and Devon’s attractions.
Bude is Cornwall’s most northern town and has been a favourite seaside resort since Victorian times. The town has excellent facilities and a wide selection of interesting, independent shops.
