    Downstairs the property has generous living accommodation with a light and spacious lounge and a separate dining room, both with wood burners. The house has the benefit of two bathrooms and there are three bedrooms on the first-floor level. The kitchen and sunroom open directly onto a large, private, fully enclosed garden at the rear. The garden can also be accessed through the utility room. A gate to the side of the property into the garden means easy access from a beach trip or dog walk without having to go through the house.
    If you want to eat out, you will find a selection of pubs and restaurants within a short walk from the property. For those who want to eat in, the kitchen offers all the facilities you will need, and the covered decking area is perfect for al fresco dining! Watch the stars and enjoy planning the next day’s adventures.
    A bus stop, 50 metres from the property, provides a frequent service into St Ives. The house is only a short walk to Lelant railway station on the scenic St Ives branch line, ideal for access to St Ives and Carbis Bay, where parking can be difficult, especially in high season. You can also explore further afield, as the rail link at St Erth will take you on the Penzance to Paddington main line providing access to main towns such as Truro, Falmouth and Newquay.
    For your four-legged friends, Porthkidney Beach, within walking distance of the property, is dog-friendly all year round, with lifeguards during the summer season. There are also plenty of coastal walks to choose from. Close by at Hayle, you will find dunes and a large expanse of beaches. Gwithian is popular with surfers and families as it has parking and a cafe for refreshments, and at low tide, there are large rock pools for little ones to play in.

Take your pick, depending on the conditions! Hayle Beach is a short walk across the main road from the cottage and is a pleasant stroll, great for walking, running, cycling or for dogs and you will often see lots of interesting birds that visit the estuary at different times of year which may include egrets, cormorants, swans, ducks and flocks of Canada geese. The property is on three storeys, on the ground floor is a lovely cosy living room leading to a kitchen and dining area which has the wood burner. The first floor has two bedrooms and family bathroom and on the second floor is a third bedroom with stunning views of the countryside. The private garden is enclosed and ideal for children and dogs.
    This is an ideal location for families, friends, and couples, as you would expect there are stunning beaches all around. Gwithian Towans in Hayle is the largest beach and is 6.7 miles away from Hayle, great for families, as it is flat and sandy surrounded by sand dunes, when the tide goes out it leaves large pools great for paddling, it is a favourite with surfers, there is also a portion of the beach which is dog friendly all year round. Other beaches are Porthtowan, another large sandy beach backed by cliffs in St Agnes, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, ideal for families and a favourite for surfers, a smaller beach overlooking the harbour with cafés and shops and a fish and chip shop.
    For the more energetic, there are numerous coastal walks where you can admire the spectacular scenery and wildlife or if you prefer, take one of the country walks, the National Trust has several houses and gardens with circular walks. You can hire bikes locally, there is a great cycle trail from Bissoe to Portreath or Wadebridge to Padstow. The area is rich in history Tin and Copper was mined locally and remnants of this can be found in the area, The Flat Lode follows part of the rail of the Basset Mine Tramway used to carry tin ore from the mines. You can do the circular walk or take the cycle route. Heartlands is a visitor attraction and Mining World Heritage Site, is a great day out for all ages. Whatever you do it is lovely to come back to Sycamore Cottage, sit in the peaceful garden and admire the skies whilst you plan the next day’s adventure.
