Both Rushup Moor and the Tissington Trail are close by, and the ever popular Bakewell and beautiful honeypot village of Castleton are around 20 minutes’ drive. The stunning Hope Valley, Goyt Valley and Roman Lakes are around 30 minutes away, as are the magnificent historic houses of Lyme Park, Haddon Hall and Chatsworth House. The wonderful market towns of Ashbourne and Matlock can be reached in around a 40-minute drive and for those thrill seekers Britain’s premier theme park Alton Towers can be reached in around 50 minutes. The spa town of Buxton and market town of Bakewell are both around a 15-minute drive, as are a selection of other Peak District towns and villages such as Eyam, Castleton and Hathersage. In an elevated position, surrounded by extensive grounds and accessed down a narrow lane, the setting is peaceful and with views that are nothing less than spectacular. As a village, Bradwell is a picturesque, rabbit-warren of narrow lanes and tiny cottages, built up a steep hillside, and as can be seen from Lillegarth, the village is surrounded by fabulous countryside. Making an excellent base, local facilities within the village include shops, pubs and places to eat, and there are also two children’s playgrounds within the village. Bradwell amenities also include a fish and chip shop, a shop, bread shop, Post Office and a hairdressers.

Once the original station masters house and built in 1880, Station House nestles in a beautiful valley overlooking amazing countryside, and offers a unique position directly onto the Monsal Trail in the Peak District National Park. There are several photos in the house that show the property with steam trains running by. It lies on the disused Manchester to London line with the other station buildings and Victorian railway bridges next to the cottage. The property has railway themed signs and is mentioned in several railway history books (these are also in the cottage).
