Gunnislake is a small village on the Tamar River. It has a few shops and pubs. The picturesque Tamar Valley Railway runs from the village to Plymouth along the riverbank. The area is ideal for visiting Dartmoor, the south and north coast beaches, and Cornwall's far west. The Donkey Sanctuary and Cotehele House and Gardens (NT) are within reach, and Tavistock, with its pannier market, pubs, and restaurants, and Calstock, a fishing village known for its crafts and festivals, are also nearby.
