Great bike trails are available in the area, there is a local pub with excellent food, a lovely local tea room, Muncaster Castle is a short drive away, or why not enjoy a round on the nearby 18-hole golf course or a ride on the miniature railway in nearby Eskdale? Irton Hall sits at the foothills of the Western fells and is situated amongst breathtaking lakeland countryside. Irton Hall lies just a couple of miles from Santon Bridge and Eskdale Green and is steeped in history with Oliver Cromwell and Henry VI both visiting the Irton Hall Estate. The area around Irton Hall is a walker's haven with many peaks, just as Scafell, Great Gable and Hard Knott and valleys, just as Eskdale and Wasdale all nearby. Other attractions in the area that are well worth visiting are Muncaster Castle, the World Owl Centre and the Ravenglass to Eskdale miniature railway, plus Wastwater - the deepest lake in the country and St Olaf's - the smallest church .
