Overview

The Tack Room is a beautiful, all-ground-floor apartment, set within a converted Georgian coach house and found just moments away from the bustling town of Lydney, making an idyllic base for exploring the borders of South Wales, Gloucestershire and the Wye Valley AONB. Boasting an enviable hillside position, amongst spectacular landscaped country, this property offers stunning views of the countryside and nearby town and is perfect for a small family or group of friends looking for a relaxing getaway to this wonderful part of the country. The property benefits from its own private entrance and off-road parking, is furnished with an elegant touch and boasts everything you could possibly need for a self-catering holiday. Enter the open-plan living room to discover the well-equipped kitchen, where you can make the most of the electric oven, electric hob, microwave, fridge and freeze to chef up some family-favourite recipes that can be enjoyed at the formal dining table. Afterwards, settle down for the evening within the sitting area, flick on the electric fire to allow a gentle warmth to fill the room as you kick back on the sofa and browse the channels of the TV, the perfect spot for winding down after a busy day exploring. Concluding the interior are the two bedrooms, comprising of one double and one twin, each boasting a refreshing colour palette and quality linens to ensure that sleep comes easy, as well as access to a sleek Jack-and-Jill en-suite shower room. Guests are free to wander around the delightful shared grounds, sit, and relax with a cool drink whilst planning your next day’s activities, with enough space to allow your canine companion to roam. Be sure to meander into the town centre, where you can enjoy a spot of retail therapy before refuelling in one of the pubs, cafés or restaurants, with something to suit all tastes and budgets. There is plenty to do right on your doorstep including walking and cycling amongst the beautiful countryside of the Royal Forest of Dean, England's largest oak forest, or endeavouring along the Gloucestershire Way and Offa's Dyke Path for even more breath-taking scenery. As well as activities such as caving, abseiling and a high wire rope course, the area plays host to a number of attractions, including Puzzlewood, the Dean Forest Railway and Chepstow Castle. Venture outside the village and visit the historic market town of Monmouth or the cathedral city of Gloucester where you can browse an array of shops or go to a selection of pubs and restaurants. Slightly further afield is the unspoilt Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons National Park) and Black Mountains for walking opportunities in Wales or you could marvel at the timbered Tudor houses in the lovely town of Ross-on-Wye. Based in a superb location with plenty to do, the Tack Room is set in a peaceful environment, ideal for enjoying a break at any time of the year!
