Overview

This substantial, detached property sits in a wonderful setting on the outskirts of the town of Swanage, Dorset. Boasting characterful furnishings, a large garden patio with hot tub and views of the surrounding countryside, The Farmhouse welcomes families and friends for a fabulous retreat to Dorset. The kitchen/diner is where the designated chef can whip up a hearty meal for the group, whilst the breakfast bar and a large dining table offers ample seating for all. When it comes to spending your down time, there’s plenty of space for the group to spread out and ponder on the day’s events; the conservatory offers a sofa, armchairs and Smart TV, whilst there is a lounge and a snug at the front of the home, equipped with Chesterfield sofas, woodburning stoves and open fires to create a homely ambiance. Keep on top of your laundry in the utility room, housing a washing machine and tumble dryer, whilst the bathroom and shower room gives you space to freshen up yourself. Venture upstairs and discover three character bedrooms; there’s two king-size rooms with four-poster beds and TVs, along with a pretty twin with TV. The lounges offer luxury fold-away beds sleeping an additional four guests. Relish in the expansive garden space, enjoying alfresco dining from the patio furniture or taking advantage of the spacious, 10-seater hot tub. On-site there is a shop where you can pick up the essentials and a bar where you can unwind with a cocktail whilst watching over the little ones in the play area. There is also The Old Mess Room, which during the summer months serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus there is a takeaway service! Head into Swanage where you can stroll along the seafront and visit the pier, before grabbing fish and chips from a seafront café or choosing from a selection of restaurants, with The Salt Pig Too and Gee Whites Seafood Restaurant. Train enthusiasts can visit the heritage railway station and board a steam engine to Corfe Castle and Norden, whilst on those sunny afternoons, head to Swanage Beach and lounge on the golden sands and swim in the shores. If you’re looking to get your steps in, join the South West Coastal Path and hike to Studland & Goldingston Heath, or take yourself further afield and see the city attractions of Bournemouth. However you choose to spend your holiday time, a break at The Farmhouse has lots to look forward to.

    Location

    Directions
Swanage is a small, family-friendly beach town on the renowned Isle of Purbeck, at the eastern extremity of Dorset's renowned Jurassic Coast. Swanage is arguably best known for its lovely, gently sloping golden sands. The small town is well renowned for its annual jazz festival, which is held in July, and for its abundance of stores, fine taverns, and restaurants, some of which specialise in locally caught seafood. The charming Victorian wooden pier is a lovely spot to promenade, go fishing, or just sit and take in the sights. It's also a popular starting point for divers. Regular vintage steam engine excursions transport tourists on a charming 6-mile journey, chugging through gorgeous countryside to stop just beyond the romantic ruin of Corfe Castle, from the town's terminal on the historic Swanage Railway. With beautiful coastline walks, dolphin sightings, and wildlife viewing in addition to comfortable viewing areas and a well stocked cafe for a treat after all the fresh air, nearby Durlston Country Park makes for a fantastic day out. Take the frequent chain ferry that travels over the mouth of Poole Harbour to Sandbanks and the short drive to Studland, which has one of the best beaches in the nation and is bordered by heathland. Any time of year, you can have a wonderful break here.
