Sheltered and sandy, it is patrolled by lifeguards and is popular with families who like to swim and surf. Mullion golf Club sits on the cliff tops and command stunning views across Mounts Bay. You can also discover the stunning beach at Kynance Cove or visit Praa Sands, where surf gear can be hired and lessons booked. Within a half hour drive, the mighty St Michaels Mount with fortress is well worth a visit. Tide permitting, walk the cobbled causeway on the low tide or venture by ferry on a high tide. Gunwalloe village is situated amongst the sand dunes and cliffs on the west coast of the Lizard Peninsula with three beaches, a large stretch of sand reaching as far as Porthleven, Dollar and Church Cove and a popular pub, The Halzephron Inn, offering tables outside with views right across Mounts Bay. Gunwalloe is near to Mullion which is a large village on the Lizard Peninsula, the most southerly tip of mainland Britain. The village is home to a selection of popular restaurants, shops and pubs, Mullion Meadows Chocolate Factory and coffee shop, as well as Mullion Cove, a pretty working harbour.
