Overview

Tan y Fron sits within the quiet coastal town of Penrhyn Bay, Conwy and offers the ideal base for a family holiday exploring North Wales. Ample off-road car parking is provided to the front of the property with easy access to the main entrance. Enter into the property via a porch where there is a decorative stained-glass window and space to store coats and shoes. Step through to the heart of the property where there is an open-plan living area with kitchen, dining and sitting area, offering a great social hub for all guests to enjoy. Bi-fold doors let in streams of light from the south facing garden where you can enjoy a morning coffee in the sitting area with a view over the patio whilst your four-legged friend relaxes next to you in the sunshine. The modern fitted kitchen houses ample amenities where you can cook a fantastic meal for the family to enjoy at the dining table beside the original ornamental fireplace. A separate lounge is located to the front of the house where you can sink into one of the comfy sofas in front of the feature fireplace surrounded by the characterful bay windows and traditional features such as the picture rails and vintage mirror. This cosy lounge provides enough space for everyone to sit and enjoy a good film together or the ideal spot to catch up on some reading. To the first floor there are three modern-fitted bedrooms. The master bedroom has views across towards the Little Orme from the bay window and includes a king size bed with a contemporary ensuite with walk in shower. The other first floor bedrooms offer a second king size bed and a zip and link bed with the option for this to be set us a super king upon request. A beautifully presented family bathroom is also located on the first floor with a walk-in shower and roll top bath to relax in after a day of exploring. Quirky ladder stairs lead to a fourth bedroom, nestled in the attic space with sloping ceilings and views across the roof tops towards Snowdonia. This bedroom is set up as a twin and has a lovely tucked-away atmosphere, perfect for older children to enjoy games and the reading corner. Penrhyn Bay offers plenty of amenities right on the doorstep, with the local supermarket, coffee shops, sandwich shop, takeaways, pharmacy and hairdressers all within walking distance. Also a short walk from the property is the Little Orme and at the headland you can visit Angel Bay where you can view the local colony of sea lions that have taken up residence on the beach. The headland overs fantastic views across towards Penrhyn Bay Beach and Rhos-on Sea and is a great place to walk the dog or enjoy a picnic on a sunny day. Taking a walk along the Coastal Path towards the east you will pass Rhos-on-Sea Golf Course and carry on along the coast to reach the town of Rhos-on-Sea where there are numerous shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. The promenade and beach stretch all the way along the coast to Colwyn Bay where you can enjoy water sports at Porth Erias or have a bite to eat in the Michelin star restaurant. Travelling further along the coast to the west brings you to the Victorian seaside town of Llandudno, offering a wide range of tourist attractions as well as ample facilities including shops, supermarkets and local tourist information facilities. Enjoy a trip up the Great Orme on the tram or cable car or a visit to the Llandudno Snowsports Centre where you can go tobogganing or learn how to ski on the dry ski slope. A walk along the pier lets you take in the sea breeze and enjoy the views of the bay and its long stretch of Victorian hotels. The west shore offers more beaches as well as wildlife walks including the Conwy Estuary Trail which stretches alongside the river to the RSPB Nature Reserve in Conwy. Hop over the river and enjoy a day exploring the historic walled town of Conwy with its 13th Century castle and wall top walk. Here you’ll find amazing delis and bakeries as well as the famous smallest house in Great Britain. Travel a little further inland to explore Snowdonia National Park. For those feeling adventurous you can take a hike up to the summit of Snowdon, the tallest mountain in Wales or there are an abundance of extreme sports including riding the artificial wave at Surf Snowdonia, trampolining in caves, rope walk through the tree tops or zip line through a quarry. Or take a more relaxed walk around the National Trust owned Bodnant Gardens which offers a different experience all year round. This part of North Wales truly has something for everyone and Tan y Fron will provide you with the perfect base to explore from.
