Overview
Set overlooking the golden sands of Mundesley Beach on the North Norfolk coast, this 'restaurant with rooms', is the perfect destination for eating, drinking and relaxing. Dating back 300 years, it is perhaps the oldest pub on the Norfolk coast. The Ship prides itself in using only the finest, freshest ingredients, sourced locally to create seasonal menus. Your canine companion is welcome to join in with the culinary experience as sausages are on hand especially to ensure that tails are wagging. The 7 beautiful boutique rooms are light and airy with nautical interiors and make a perfect sanctuary to get away from it all. Doggie guests are encouraged to enjoy the beautiful gardens and venture further afield onto the beaches. We recommend the miles of golden shoreline at Mundesley from October - April. During peak season (May to September) pup-friendly Trimingham Beach, Happisburgh Beach and East Runton are the best coast-lines for canine appeal.

Rude staff and bad food sums this place up. It s a shame as the hotel itself and rooms are lovely. Firstly I was spoken to really rudely by the woman who answered the phone on the Friday just to request a room with a bath.
Requested a dinner reservation months ago for 8pm. Nothing got confirmed and on arrival when I checked, I was told 1945 was the latest we could have dinner. Went down for dinner and let s just say Brakes Brothers certainly feature across the menu. Breaded mushrooms that were like nuclear orange balls and then I had the plaice which failed to turn up as it was clearly frozen and a pile of batter. My partners ribs were dumped on top of his chips so they were all soggy but worst of all was the rude General Manager who told us last orders were at 8.45!! Thought it was a pub and what happened to bars shutting in hotels when guests go to bed. The whole team then proceeded to put their coats on in front of us while we were still eating and said goodbye to each other. Next morning the girl on reception had the audacity to try to charge me again for the room! Worst customer service I ve ever received!
