Port Hotel is a contemporary, dog-friendly boutique hotel by the sea, situated on the Royal Parade in Eastbourne with far-reaching sea views and a sandy beach just across the road - making it the perfect coastal petaway. Eastbourne itself has recently undergone something of a regeneration with an artsy crowd, interesting shops, and a plethora of dog-friendly cafes and bars. Your dog will love strolling along the Promenade and splashing about in the sea, and there are plenty of coastal paths, dog-friendly beaches, and villages close by. Beachy Head, Cuckmere Haven, and Friston Forest are all on the doorstep, and you can also enjoy gorgeous country walks along the South Downs.

A lovingly restored Victorian Townhouse, this boutique coastal bolthole features 19 super stylish, dog-friendly bedrooms. The hotel has been meticulously restored to showcase its historical significance while embracing a chic, contemporary design. There’s also an ever-changing display of art exhibited in the space from local artists, reflecting the creativity of Eastbourne’s flourishing art scene, spearheaded by the award-winning Towner Gallery. The decor combines elegance with stylish rooms that offer a nod to its seaside setting through subtle maritime accents.

The dog-friendly cocktail bar is relaxed and inviting and serves up inventive concoctions in an ambiance that welcomes wagging tails, making it the perfect spot for relaxation after a day of exploration. The on-site restaurant takes the dining experience up a notch with its super stylish setting and delectable menu, focusing on local, seasonal produce that guarantees a culinary journey for the senses.

The hotel is very dog-welcoming and offers doggie beds, bowls, blankets, and treats to make your dog feel at home! The hotel team are also super dog-friendly and will even endeavour to remember your dog’s name! All areas of the hotel are dog-friendly, and your dog will be able to sniff out all the best dog-friendly beaches along the coast.

Must be its fabulous location! Right on the promenade, with a sandy beach across the road & coastal paths to explore! The South Downs are also just a short drive away.

Bedrooms & Suites

All the dog-friendly bedrooms are stylish and chic with six rooms overlooking the beach and Eastbourne pier and with some rooms conveniently located on the lower ground floor and with two of the rooms having access to a small outdoor space. The rooms are fitted with super-king sized beds and luxurious Hypnos mattresses, with a dog bed provided. Quality linens and thoughtful touches make these rooms comfortable and inviting. The modern en-suite bathrooms have powerful walk-in showers, with one of these rooms boasting an indulgent freestanding bath. All rooms have large TVs, bar fridges, Nespresso coffee machines, kettles, safes, and USB charging points.

The Cabin Rooms are cosy - small but fully formed with everything you need for a comfortable stay. With king-sized beds and an ensuite bathrooms, these rooms are a great based t explore Eastbourne and the surrounding seaside with your four legged friend. Please note, these rooms are located on the upper floors there is no lift, so you might prefer a lower floor. One of our cabin rooms (room 18) has no door on the bathroom - please enquire pre-booking if you would prefer a different room.

Dine with Your Dog

You can dine with your dog in the restaurant, which serves continental breakfast every day, delicious lunch and dinner on Friday and Saturday, and a roast on Sunday, all created by Guest Chef Loic Williams. These menus celebrate the best of Sussex. Port Eastbourne’s restaurant is a place to relax with friends and family (human and furry), enjoy fantastic food, delicious drinks, and lap up the incredible sea views!
