Overview

Within the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park and overlooking the gentle shores of Loch Long, with a handy coffee shop and art gallery close by, is Pier View, with uninterrupted views across the loch to Cove and Kilcreggan. This mid-terrace cottage offers the ideal break for families and friends looking to get away and explore the beautiful west coast of Scotland and the Highlands region. Entrance is gained at the rear of the property, where you can kick off your boots and hang up your coats in the hallway before being welcomed into the well-appointed living room. Unwind together with the family on the sofa in front of the wood burner or tuck yourself away in one corner of the room with a refreshing glass of wine and a good book, while glancing up at the view. You can catch up on the day's events around the dining table and tuck into a piping hot meal, which can be prepared in the fully-equipped kitchen next door. Upstairs are three bedrooms, two of which, the super king-size double and the single, enjoy more of the superb views from the window as you wake up each morning. Sit out on the rear patio on a warm summer's evening or relax in the front with the glorious views of the loch for company. On the patio at the rear of the cottage, enjoy seeing the many wild birds and possibly even local deer that have been known to come and nibble the flowers. The Firth of Clyde is home to an abundance of marine life and from the pier in front of the cottage, you can spot seals and harbour dolphins on a regular basis and you may be lucky enough to see a sea otter and even the occasional basking shark. The ‘PS Waverley’, the only remaining sea going paddle steamer in the world, stops off at Blairmore pier regularly in the summer months and a trip on this magnificent vessel would be one of the highlights of your holiday. The nearest pub, serving good food, is just a one mile stroll along the shore road, where you will also find the local newsagent and post office. There is also a scenic golf course in Blairmore which welcomes visitors. You have plenty of activities to fill your day. This area is very popular among walkers, cyclists and sailors, while the delightful town of Dunoon rests just a few miles away and is served by a regular bus service. Find a plethora of bars, restaurants, coffee shops and independent shops offering something different in the town centre. Stroll its Victorian pier and visit the historic Castle Mound or even explore the surrounding attractions of Argyll Forest Park and Argyll’s beautiful ‘hidden coast’ The Benmore Botanic Garden is within easy reach, a magnificent, 120-acre garden enveloped by dramatic scenery. You can have a close encounter with a red squirrel, a sparrow hawk and the occasional Golden Eagle, with the Wildlife Hide offering the perfect opportunity. Choose to enjoy a real adventure here on the Cowal peninsula and return to relax in this splendid retreat with your loved ones. EPC Rating: Band D
