Enjoying a superb location within the Peak District National Park, and just paces away from the local amenities, Olive Tree Cottage is a fabulous dog-friendly choice for a group or family of six. The property benefits from off-road parking for one car, a front garden with lawn, decking and sitting area, and a rear garden with patio, perfect for alfresco dining. Inside, you will find an inviting sitting area with an alluring woodburning stove, plush sofas, and a Smart TV with Sky, a haven to return to after exploring the peaks, as well as a utility, and a well-equipped kitchen/diner for rustling up your best dishes. Upstairs, you can wash away the day’s adventures in the contemporary bathroom with a soak in the bath or freshen up under the overhead shower. When sleep calls, three tastefully decorated bedrooms await, a king-size with views over the garden and out towards Castle Hill, a four-poster double and a 4’0 double. Explore the local village, where you can enjoy a refreshing drink up the cobbled street at a real ale pub -The Allied. A warm, friendly welcome also awaits you at The Foresters Arms or perhaps you prefer a glass of wine or cocktail at Krafty Kettle. Honley host some lovely restaurants too where you treat your loved ones to a wonderful meal at The Blue Tiger, Savaro, Punch Bar and Tapas or picnic in Honley Park, stock up on essentials at the local convenience store, or enjoy leisurely walks along the River Holme, Honley Woods and the surrounding area. Next stop is Holmfirth, well-known for the hit series Last of the Summer Wine, here you can catch a live gig at the fabulous Picturedrome, dine at Lou & Joe’s Burger Co, Mezze Bar Restaurant or Harvey’s Bar/Kitchen, peruse the Last of the Summer Wine Exhibition, or hop aboard a Summer Wine Magic bus tour which will take you to all the favourite spots from the series.     The charming ancient stone houses and cobbled alleyways of Honley, a historic village near to Holmfirth, may be found along the banks of the River Holme. Honley village has a variety of stores, eateries, and bars. The Grade II listed church's grounds contain the ruins of some stocks. The Honley Agricultural Show takes place every year. The town of Holmfirth, famous for serving as the backdrop for the comedy series Last of the Summer Wine, is only three miles distant. Holmfirth has fascinating meandering alleyways to explore and a number of festivals held throughout the year that feature musical and artistic exhibitions. In addition, Holmfirth contains parks, a shopping complex, a café, and a decent public pool and fitness facility. The towns of Sheffield, Leeds, and Manchester, as well as the attractions of the Peak District National Park, are all accessible, as is the university town of Huddersfield. An excellent starting point for exploring the region, located along the 2016 Tour de Yorkshire route, and perfect for cyclists and walkers.
