The charming ancient stone houses and cobbled alleyways of Honley, a historic village near to Holmfirth, may be found along the banks of the River Holme. Honley village has a variety of stores, eateries, and bars. The Grade II listed church's grounds contain the ruins of some stocks. The Honley Agricultural Show takes place every year. The town of Holmfirth, famous for serving as the backdrop for the comedy series Last of the Summer Wine, is only three miles distant. Holmfirth has fascinating meandering alleyways to explore and a number of festivals held throughout the year that feature musical and artistic exhibitions. In addition, Holmfirth contains parks, a shopping complex, a café, and a decent public pool and fitness facility. The towns of Sheffield, Leeds, and Manchester, as well as the attractions of the Peak District National Park, are all accessible, as is the university town of Huddersfield. An excellent starting point for exploring the region, located along the 2016 Tour de Yorkshire route, and perfect for cyclists and walkers.
