Stake Pool, or Stakepool as it is more commonly known, is a small hamlet in rural Lancashire, England, located midway between the bustling seaside resort town of Blackpool and the ancient hilltop city of Lancaster. Stake Pool is conveniently located near the Forest of Bowland AONB, as well as the many tourist hotspots in the neighbouring Yorkshire Dales and Lake District National Park. Although it is a small community, there is the Elletson Arms, a village pub, serving a variety of drinks and tasty pub meals, making it perfect for those nights when you don't feel like cooking. It's not far to the coast, where you can bask in the sun on Fleetwood Beach, or families can visit Blackpool to check out all the fun things to do along the boardwalk. Blackpool Pleasure Beach is home to a variety of thrilling rides, including the historic wooden roller coaster Big Dipper (erected in 1923) and the observation deck of Blackpool Tower, where visitors can take in breath-taking views of the sea. In addition to the beach, visitors can visit the SEA LIFE aquarium and the world-famous wax museum Madame Tussauds, both of which are located right on the boardwalk. You may also go the other way, to Lancaster, and learn more about the area's past at Lancaster Castle and the museum. You can get a great overview of the Northwest from Stake Pool.
