Clean but faded - efficient, but could be friendlier
We stayed for 2 nights and slept well in a comfortable bed - and our room was clean if dated & had a view out onto the garden, which was lovely ... with 2 small horses in a field. Breakfast was also very good.
On the negative side, the hotel was 'faded', and chairs had been stacked up high in the hallway that led to the ground floor rooms ... it looked ugly, and could easily have been hidden by a screen.
Also, our package included a bottle of prosecco. This was not there when we arrived - and although reception promised it for the evening of the following day, to be in the room before we came back from our day out, it was not there then either. I went to ask for it again, and it was delivered (& very tasty) ... but the surprise for my wife had been spoiled.
Breakfast was very tasty - but the staff were efficient rather than friendly. This was true for all the staff we met.
All in all, we paid c.350 GBP for 2 nights B&B with prosecco, which was very much cheaper than booking with the hotel itself. However, in retrospect this still seems fairly high for what this particular hotel offers ... which is nice, but some way off what my wife and I would call 'luxury'.
