Located in the hamlet of Thurdon, Jennings Cottage is only a short drive away from the vibrant bustling town of Bude, with its unique historic canal and sea lock, and beautiful award-winning expansive sandy beaches at Summerleaze, Widemouth Bay and Sandymouth Bay. A village pub/restaurant, shops and takeaway food outlets are all available 2 miles away in Kilkhampton.
The picturesque fishing villages of Boscastle, Port Isaac and Padstow are all worth a visit and mystical Tintagel with the legendary King Arthur’s castle is also nearby. The location is also perfect for walkers and nature lovers alike wishing to explore the wild beauty of Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor. Upper Tamar Lake is just a 10-minute walk away, offering an off-road trail for walking and cycling, fishing and water sports, including kayaking, canoeing and paddle boarding and a friendly lakeside Café serving breakfasts, lunches and home-made cakes and refreshments throughout the day.
Exploring further afield, travelling south along the Atlantic Highway, the renowned Eden Project, the Cathedral city of Truro and the ever-popular St. Ives are all within easy reach and travelling north into North Devon you can enjoy the dramatic coastal scenery at Hartland Quay, the pretty harbour village of Clovelly and Appledore & Instow on the banks of the River Torridge and further on to the river-port shopping town of Barnstaple, which is around an hour’s drive away.
