Overview

West Witton 4.5 miles. Resting in the quaint village of Aysgarth, just a short car journey from West Witton, lies this fabulous, stone-clad, four-bedroom holiday home, Hillside House. Boasting off-road parking, bedrooms with Smart TVs, and a stunning setting within the magnificent Yorkshire Dales National Park, this excellent property welcomes eight guests for a memorable escape to the heart of rural Yorkshire. Once you're parked up and unpacked, make yourself at home in your new lodgings by setting up shop in the fully-equipped kitchen/diner, where the chosen chef will find all they require to rustle up delicious, home-cooked meals for the whole group. Savour your meals around the dining table before settling down by the woodburning stove in the sitting room, which comes complete with a large corner sofa and sleek Smart TV. As day rolls into night, retreat to one of four, well-presented bedrooms, one of which is a tastefully-laid out attic room, comprising a plush double bed, elegant freestanding bath, and it's very own en-suite cloakroom - an idyllic sanctuary for you to rest and recuperate in after a long, fun-filled day. After you've finished your morning coffee whilst planning the day ahead in the enclosed rear patio, set off to explore the local area by popping into Aysgarth village, where you and the family can spend time traversing through the scenic greens of the Aysgarth Edwardian Rock Garden before visiting the Aysgarth Falls Yorkshire Dales National Park Visitor Centre, home to cascading waterfalls and pristine woodland, making a great setting for a picnic or day out hiking. When you've built up a sufficient appetite, the Aysgarth Falls Hotel & Restaurant offers something for every palate, whilst The Wheatsheaf Inn in nearby Carperby serves up traditional pub fare if that's more of what you fancy. A trip to Aysgarth would be incomplete without spending time exploring the wonderous peaks and valleys of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, with amazing natural landmarks such as the aquatic spots of Middle Falls and Cauldron Falls, Ingleborough Cave, and Malham Cove merely scratching the surface of what this brilliant park has to offer. Whatever you choose to do during your stay in Aysgarth, be sure to do it from the fantastic base of Hillside House.

West Witton, a charming and historic Wensleydale village, is located in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, halfway between Leyburn and Hawes. West Witton is a classic ancient community made up of stone-built farmhouses and cottages that enjoys stunning views of Bolton Castle, Penhill and its limestone scars, lush, rolling landscape, and the nearby fells. The village contains two pubs, one of which has been recognised as England's greatest seafood pub by the Wensleydale Heifer 2006/07 AA, as well as a well-stocked village store and a lovely green. The impressive ruins of Castle Bolton can be found across the valley from the village, and nearby towns like Middleham, Leyburn, and Aysgarth Falls are all only a short drive away. Middleham is home to a famous racing stable, a Norman castle, and a charming old market square surrounded by delightful shops, pubs, and restaurants. a great starting point for a walking vacation, for exploring Wensleydale, the Yorkshire Dales, the North York Moors, or the Lake District.
