Set in the bustling village of Pangbourne beside the River Thames, dog-friendly The Elephant Hotel in Berkshire has everything for the perfect weekend with your best furry friend. It has wonderful river walks nearby and offers a great base to visit Windsor Castle, dog-friendly Basildon Gardens, Henley and the Chilterns. A boutique style hotel it is super comfortable, with eclectic decor and beautiful handcrafted Indian furniture and rich fabrics creating a lovely warm and cosy atmosphere. Some of the bedrooms have four poster beds. The hotel is especially dog welcome with plenty of treats on offer and lots of cosy places for your dog to curl up and a warming log fire in the lobby to return to after a busy day of walks. The dog-friendly rooms are mostly located on the ground floor for easy access. The hotel is renowned for its steak restaurant and you can dine with your dog in the BaBar - famous for its fabulous selection of gins. There is also a lovely enclosed garden for your dog to explore.

You may dine with your dog in the Baba Bar which has a bistro feel, serving excellent local fayre. Or you can leave your dog in the room and dine in the hotel's Herd restaurant which offers a selection of the finest meats matured on the bone for 30 days, which offers an elegant fine dining alternative. On warmer days you can dine with your dog al fresco in the enclosed garden.

Wonderful weekend getaway
We had a wonderful stay over the Henley Regatta weekend. The hotel was perfect travelling distance away. Staff were all incredibly accommodating especially with our toddler in tow. It was clean, welcoming and delight to stay. Excellent food in the restaurant - portions were very large! And lots of lovely touches inside the room as well. We ll definitely be back!

There is limited on-site parking and it cannot be reserved. There is ample pay and display parking available in Station Road public car park, next door to the hotel. This costs £5.50 per car, per day (08:00 – 18:00, free on Sundays).
Ther are two pod point charger spaces, which can be used by any car.

Location & Local Attractions
The Elephant is situated on the Thames Path and there's a lovely riverside walk that runs from Pangbourne to Purley. The walk follows the Thames path downstream through grassy fields and leafy paths. On the way there are some lovely dog-friendly cafes to stop off in the delightful village of Pangbourne. The Royal town of Windsor is close by as is Henley and the lovely gardens of dog-friendly Basildon Park. You could also explore the Chiltern Hills or the Ridgeway National Trails.
