Castlebergh Cottage is situated in a picturesque countryside market town that seems straight out of a storybook. A local market offers a wide-range of fresh produce, gourmet cheeses and handcrafted goods every Tuesday. However, less than five minutes drive brings you to a nationally recognised and newly expanded cheesemongers at the Courtyard Dairy. For those seeking a taste of adventure, a bike rental shop provides the opportunity to explore the surrounding countryside on two wheels. Whether you’re curling up with a book by the fire (bought at the excellent independent bookshop in the square) in the lounge, savouring a homemade meal in the quirky kitchen/diner, or indulging in a bubble bath in the luxurious bathroom, Castlebergh Cottage promises an unforgettable escape where luxury and charm intertwine. Wellgate is a delightful stone-built cottage that dates back to the 1850s and offers a comfortable stay located in the stunning Upper Nidderdale village of Middlesmoor which is set just outside of Pateley Bridge.
This semi-detached cottage has plenty of character with a fireplace and wood burner adding additional heat and charm. Wellgate offers couples a wonderful holiday retreat whilst being ideally located to explore all that the Yorkshire Dales has to offer. Relax in the peace and tranquillity and enjoy the spectacular scenery whatever the season with stunning views from the front of the cottage. On the ground floor is the comfortable living area, a great space to relax in front of the wood burner with a glass of red on those colder evenings after a day exploring the local area. On the same floor you have a well-presented, well-equipped, country-style kitchen that has plenty of room for food preparation. In addition, there is a ground-floor bathroom which includes a shower cubicle and heated towel rail. Up one flight of stairs, you are presented with two bedrooms, stylishly furnished, and decorated and both with fresh cotton linen guaranteeing a perfect night’s sleep. The master bedroom also offers en-suite facilities. To the front of the cottage, there is a small seating area that gives you breathtaking views over the stunning countryside from all angles. This is a fantastic place to watch the sunset whilst having a well-deserved glass of fizz al fresco style.
There is so much to see and do in the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. For walkers, there are so many scenic walks straight from your doorstep so make sure you pack your walking books. For cyclists, the Pateley Bridge to Masham route and the challenging Cote de Lofthouse climb featured as part of the 2017 Tour de Yorkshire and the 2019 World Cycling Championships are also nearby. Towns close by include Pateley Bridge which is a 7-mile drive away giving you quick access to shops, café, restaurants and pubs. The market town of Masham is 10 miles away, and further afield, the cathedral city of Ripon is 40 minutes away. The fashionable spa town of Harrogate is a 45-minute drive. Should you wish to leave the driving and cooking for another day there is a very characterful and proper, traditional North Yorkshire pub that sells locally brewed beer and bar food, and is just one minute’s walk away from the cottage. Nearby National Trust attractions include the magnificent Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal near Ripon and Brimham Rocks in Summerbridge.

Brook Hall is a classical English mansion built in 1835, where there is beauty, space, fresh air, comfort, freedom, and incredible far-reaching unspoilt views in all directions with amazing sunrises and sunsets. The Wing sleeps up to 16 guests and consists of eight large double or twin bedrooms, four bathrooms, a large kitchen and a sitting area with Smart TV. The kitchen is fully equipped for all your culinary needs with an electric Belling cooker and a large extendable farmhouse table for sit-down meals.

There is a stunningly situated, hard tennis court by the Hall if you like to play, and there is also the option of arranging for a hot tub for your stay by contacting the owners directly - £165 for 1 night, £190 for 2 nights, £210 for 3 nights, £255 for 4 nights, £300 for 5 nights, £345 for 6 nights and £390 for 7 nights.
Set within the delightful little village of Wighill, which has its excellent pub and is located just outside York, one of the most visited cities outside London. You have quick access to the independent shops, café, pubs, restaurants, and the many tourist attractions York has to offer. Other towns and cities close by are the fashionable spa town of Harrogate and the bustling city of Leeds. Brook Hall is also on the doorstep of the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors National Parks, both full of bike trails and beautiful scenic walks. Brook Hall is also very well positioned for both York and Wetherby racecourses, so why not have a day at the races? If you and the family fancied a day at the beach, the wonderful east coast can be found in just over one hour. Hot tub hire is available but guests would need to arrange this with the owner before their arrival.

Nestling within the heart of the picturesque Swaldale village of Grinton, just a mile from Reeth is ’Neddy House’. This magnificent Grade II listed traditional dales house has been meticulously restored with every attention to detail, to offer a wonderful holiday retreat retaining many original features, yet incorporating a clever contemporary twist. There are five spacious bedrooms, three of them enjoying luxurious en suite bathrooms, and two being at ground floor level. The extensive, well equipped living accommodation offers many added extra’s such as Satellite TV, a games room with pool/games table and retaining an original listed bread oven. There is also a cinema with tiered seating and an 80" screen for guests to enjoy their favourite movie. The Byre is perfectly set in the delightful market town of Helmsley. The cottage itself many years ago was an old cow shed as the name suggests however the owners have given it the love and attention it deserves with a full renovation and made it a fantastic holiday retreat for couples with no expense meaning visitors are ensured of perfection throughout.
You enter the property into the open plan living/kitchen area. The kitchen is well equipped and well-presented and has all the necessities should you not want to dine out at the many restaurants close by. The living area has a comfortable sofa which is great to snuggle up on in front of the fabulous wood burner on those colder evenings. The property is open plan throughout except for the separate bathroom which offers a shower over the bath and heated towel rail. Towards the back of the property is a plush double bed with cosy linen guaranteeing a perfect night’s sleep after exploring this stunning area. To the side of the property, you also have a lovely little patio area with garden furniture giving you a great place to sit back and relax whilst enjoying a well-deserved glass of fizz. The Byre has plenty of character and has been lovingly decorated and furnished with exposed beams throughout giving you that lovely country home feeling.
This is a perfect base from which to enjoy the quaint market town of Helmsley, being just minutes from renowned restaurants, superb delicatessens and quality shops. In this idyllic location, amongst rolling countryside on the edge of Ryedale, Helmsley has an art centre with live-event and film programmes, five acres of walled gardens set beside the backdrop of the castle ruins, and Duncombe Park, a country estate and home to the International Centre of Birds of Prey. The area is popular for walking, touring and country pursuits.
From the popular market town of Pickering, 13 miles, the North York Moors steam train transports visitors to the fishing port of Whitby. Visit the abbey ruins at Rievaulx and Byland, stately homes at Nunnington Hall and Castle Howard and - not to be missed - is the ancient walled city of York, which is less than an hour’s drive, steeped in history and brimming with attractions.
