Situated 300 yards from the beach this holiday home lies close to the village of Elmer and within half a mile along the beach of an area of outstanding natural beauty which stretches several miles from Elmer to Littlehampton. The beaches in this area remain quiet even during the busiest summer periods and with man made rock islands just off the shore and accessible at low tide, the beach is wonderful to explore and is ideal for swimming, fishing, windsurfing and walking. Elmer is an ideal location to explore many of the attractions of the south coast from bustling Brighton 25 miles to the east, to historic Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight to the west. In-between there are beautiful places such as Chichester with its cathedral and festival theatre, quaint Arundel, 5 miles to the north with its castle, river, antique shops, restaurants and famous wetland bird centre, Goodwood and Fontwell race courses and the beautiful South Downs are all close by. Dating back to the 1600s, The Old Dairy justifies its name. However, it has been beautifully renovated to a high specification with modern and luxurious touches throughout, and is now a wonderful self-catering cottage for two in the heart of the West Sussex countryside.
The kitchen has been cleverly designed with a large hatch overlooking the sitting room area, the perfect way to both show off your culinary skills and enjoy the warmth of the wood burner roaring away in the corner. The conservatory provides a lovely sunny room to dine or doze in on a warm summer’s day, with gorgeous views over the paddocks. After dinner you can curl up, open a book or simply enjoy each other’s company in this relaxed country retreat. If you would like use of a freestanding fridge/freezer please advise before you arrive so access to it can be organised.
Why not bring your horses? This cottage benefits from its own stabling on site and, what’s more, the conservatory looks out over the paddocks where your horses can graze. Equestrian facilities are on offer for up to three horses (by prior arrangement at an additional cost): DIY livery including stabling, grazing paddocks, a lockable tack room and large lorry/horsebox parking on site. Centrally located for all things equestrian: hunts, several competition centres such as Coombelands,Hickstead, Goodwoord, polo clubs (Cowdray, Knepp and Hurtwood), flat racing, point to points at Parham or just hacks (including on the beach). You can explore the countryside on horseback as well as walking and/or cycling in the area.
Why not head out in the morning and return for an invigorating shower in the stunning white-tiled wet room, or take a picnic and wander into the evening skies to watch the sunset with a cold bottle of bubbles. Either way, a wonderful holiday experience in this quiet part of rural Sussex.

Ideally located only 200 yards from the shingle beach, which is sandy at low tide, this light, airy, detached bungalow is located down a quiet cul-de-sac, and offers comfortable holiday accommodation. The traditional seaside village of Ferring, has a café on the beach and beach huts are for hire, a short drive away are the seaside resorts of Worthing and Brighton. Worthing is one of the largest seaside towns on the south coast, and is a lively town with family fun, shopping, eateries, and entertainment in abundance. With live music, West End musicals and comedy shows all on offer.
Brighton with the iconic Royal Pavilion, famous pier, sea, and countryside, has something for everyone. The Royal Pavilion has to be seen to be believed, with its sumptuous rooms and Regency splendour it’s a sight not to be missed. Shopaholics will love the independent shops and award-winning restaurants. With its 8 miles of beach its perfect for families to enjoy a seaside holiday. The cathedral city of Chichester is within driving distance and has Roman baths, city wall and old Roman road, with its wide pedestrianised streets it’s perfect for window shopping or watching the world go by from cafés and restaurants. For a refreshing break, you can enjoy a delicious coffee, tea, or cake at one of the village’s cafes. You can also sample local produce and products at the Farmers Market, which runs on the first Saturday of the month in the Parish Hall. If you are feeling adventurous, you can venture out to the stunning coastal scenery around Rustington, where the coast of Sussex turns from facing east into the English Channel to face south into the Atlantic Ocean. There is a beautiful beach with a promenade, a children’s play area, and a sailing club. You can also walk along the South Coast Path, which offers some of the most dramatic and breathtaking landscapes on the path.
For a cultural and historical experience, you can visit Rustington Museum, which explores the village’s history from the Stone Age to the modern day with artefacts from throughout time. You can also admire the high tower of the Church of Saint Peter and Paul in Rustington, which dates back to the 12th century and contains some of the finest stained glass windows in Sussex.

The terraced property is located on the outskirts of Bognor Regis and the local area has plenty to offer to make your stay memorable. Bognor Regis is one of the most popular seaside resorts on the south coast of England, boasting lovely beaches, fun at Hotham Park, great family activities at the Butlin’s resort and much, much more. The South Downs National Park is also nearby for scenic walks, or there are plenty of attractions within easy reach, including many National Trust properties.
A little further afield you could take a trip to Chichester, where you can visit the town’s 12th-century cathedral and admire an area that is steeped in history. Check out Arundel with its historic castle and Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, which is situated only 10 miles away and provides a good day out. The Goodwood Estate is well worth a visit and is situated just a short drive away, where you can enjoy an event at the racecourse, or simply just walk round and admire the beautiful estate. Also worth a visit is Fontwell Park Racecourse, which is only 8 miles away. You can jump on the train at Bognor Regis station and travel east towards Brighton, which is known for its cosmopolitan feel and has the Royal Pavilion, art galleries, theatres, extensive shopping, marina and other facilities. Alternatively head west to Portsmouth and its historic dockyard, and admire the Spinnaker Tower, historic ships or waterside dining. For an excellent day trip, take a ferry across the Solent to the Isle of Wight. Beach 2 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

Tucked away at the end of a farm road surrounded by stunning Sussex countryside is the beautifully converted, detached, old dairy called Woodlands Dairy Cottage. Originally part of a working dairy farm within 86 acres, now with sheep and beef cattle. Lambing in springtime is not to be missed. Footpaths and great country walks emanate from the doorstep so pull on your wellies and start exploring! All the accommodation is on one floor and the cottage is wheelchair friendly. Storage is available for bicycles to explore the many bridleways which run through woodlands and open country.
The area is steeped in history as Stane Street, now known as the A29, was built by the Romans. Woodlands Dairy Cottage is ideally placed for great days out visiting the South Downs National Park, the Weald and Downland Open Air Museum, Fishers Farm Adventure Park, Arundel Castle and Gardens, Arundel Cathedral and the magnificent 900-year-old Chichester Cathedral. Brighton is 45 minutes’ drive with its vibrant marina, historic shopping Lanes and the Regency Royal Pavilion built by King George IV. You can take a boat trip along the restored section of the Wey and Arun Canal or along the River Arun from Arundel. West Sussex is famed for its many vineyards which can be visited.
Petworth House houses great collections and its deer park was designed by Grinling Gibbons. Cowdray is the home of British polo and the coveted Gold Cup which draws teams of the best players from all over the world. Goodwood, with its magnificent house, is also the home to the summer Glorious Goodwood horse race meeting as well as the hugely popular Festival of Speed and Revival for Motor Racing attracting motor enthusiasts from across the globe.
The RSPB’s Pulborough Wetlands are a must for bird fanciers. There are numerous beaches within 16 miles, good pubs and restaurants close by together with prime food shops selling local produce and two supermarkets within a 4-mile drive. There are plenty of golf courses, fishing is available locally, as well as many spectacular gardens to visit. Theatres at Chichester, Brighton and Guildford often have pre-West End shows.
