A wonderful lovingly cared for home, rich in character with its own enclosed lawn rear garden, located opposite the River Yare, in a lovely riverside location in the pretty conservation village of Reedham. During the 1900s this period thatch cottage, which is full of character, including exposed beams and a wood burner was the village inn and then became a sweet shop, and is now beautifully transformed into a loving home. The entrance hall opens into the open plan beamed living/dining room with wood burner, the sun room with seating is south facing and overlooks the River Yare. There is a well equipped kitchen with breakfast bar and stable door to the enclosed lawn garden. There is a ground floor twin bedroom and bathroom, while the first floor has two further double bedrooms and a toilet. The rear garden is tiered with steps leading up and onto a private parking area. Immediately outside is a great patio area with garden furniture.
Reedham is a conservation village with two pubs, one of which serves great food and is on the doorstep, there is a shop, café, fish and chip shop, and a railway station. There is good walking, cycling and bird watching available from the doorstep, while fishermen will delighted with the river fishing (in season, licence required), which is available opposite the property and alongside the rivers’ edge. There are many attractions within 30 miles, including the traditional seaside resort of Great Yarmouth with activities for all ages. Within easy reach are Wroxham, known as the capital of the Norfolk Broads, waterside restaurants, shops, daily boat hire and river trips. Petits Animal and Adventure Park is just 1-mile away, with BeWILDerwood tree top adventure park 18 miles and Lenwade Dinosaur Adventure Park 29 miles, popular for families with children. The city of Norwich, 17 miles, has two indoor shopping malls, market square, cinema complexes, theatre, castle museum, cathedral, art galleries and plenty of restaurants and inns. Beach 10 miles. The adjacent kitchen is kitted out for creating feasts with all the appliances you will need and follows a very contemporary design. The French doors in the dining area lead out to the garden providing loads of natural light and stunning views of the Wenlock Edge and further towards the Welsh hills; a lovely sociable space to enjoy evenings over a delicious meal or maybe some board games and drinks.
Three gorgeous double bedrooms await you, each with luxurious bedding. There are two stunning bathrooms, one en-suite in the master, with a walk-in shower and the other a panel bath with shower over. A utility room is a useful additional extra, with ample space for storage and a place to pop muddy boots after a day’s hiking. On the lower ground you’ll find a huge, converted TV/games room with fussball table and Playstation 3 for gaming or watching your favourite movie on a large screen (Netflix included); grab the popcorn and indulge in this soundproof hideaway.
Wander outside, drink in hand, and enjoy the completely enclosed garden, perfect for children and your dogs to play in happily. The towns of Shrewsbury, Much Wenlock and Telford are all nearby and offer a choice of shops, pubs, and restaurants, or if you are feeling more active, the Shropshire Hills and the Long Mynd are just South-West of you. These are a paradise for hikers and cyclists alike. Further afield takes you to the medieval market town of Ludlow, famous for its castle as well as many food and drink festivals throughout the year to enjoy. Take a trip to the town of Bridgnorth, home to The Severn Valley Steam Railway, explore the World Heritage Site of the Ironbridge Gorge or discover the numerous National Trust properties of Attingham Park, Benthall Hall, Sunnycroft House and Carding Mill Valley all within easy reach.

The Tumbling Sailor’s name derives from an old pub which was previously on the site called The Tumbling Sailors Inn. It was demolished in the early 1900s. This marvellous Shropshire cottage offers groups of up to six a wonderful stay located on the bank of the River Severn, and in the heart of Jackfield, you’re only one mile from the Ironbridge Gorge.

The three bedrooms all sit on the first floor. The master boasts a kingsize bed, whilst the second bedroom has a double bed, and the third two singles for all your sleeping arrangements covered. There’s plenty of space and all have been decorated in calming tones but still showcasing that homely cottage feel. A large family bathroom with a luxurious corner bathtub and shower completes the first floor. Outside the River Severn sits at the bottom of the garden, offering you beautiful views and sounds from the river, and ideal for kayaking and paddleboarding. There are steps leading down, along the way you’ll find lovely seating areas, and impressive gardens great on those sunny days. The garden is enclosed so that your furry friends can roam freely and there’s lots of space for everyone to enjoy a meal outside.
You’re located near to the wonderful village of Ironbridge, it’s just a quick, 15-minute walk from the cottage where you’ll find quaint cafes, great pubs and restaurants and independent shops to explore. The Ironbridge Gorge UNESCO World Heritage site is a now a maze of footpaths, bridleways, and country lanes. Whilst the village is famous for being home of the world’s first iron-built bridge, built between 1777-79 a collection of ten industrial and Victorian themed museums makes up the Ironbridge Museums Trust, including the exciting Blists Hill Victorian Village. Within driving distance are the popular historical towns of Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth, Much Wenlock and Ludlow, as well as the Wroxeter Roman City, the Severn valley Railway, the RAF Cosford Museum, and many National Trust properties. The Tumbling Sailor is a wonderful base from which to explore the beautiful county of Shropshire. Pub and restaurant within 1 mile.
