Beautiful country cottage set on its own in a perfect village location of Hernhill just 6 miles in each direction to Faversham, Whitstable and Canterbury only 10 -15 minutes’ drive away. This cosy cottage has beautiful and comfortable country styling and countryside views, on the edge of a pretty village with no immediate neighbours. When the owners are not away they live next door which is completely separate. You will completely have the main cottage entirely to yourselves with private access to the gardens which are for your use only. There is great outdoor seating areas for both dining and relaxing. The location is great as it is in the countryside, but have great access to the seaside being only 6 miles in each direction to the beautiful seaside town of Whitstable, the city of Canterbury and the lovely market town of Faversham.

This lovingly restored detached Grade II listed cottage with Flemish gables lies close to the owners’ home at the top of a country lane, amid their 21-acre farm consisting of orchards. Many original features remain – and with wide doorways, ground floor bedroom and bathroom, wheelchair access is possible. The village of Preston-next-Wingham is a mile away and there are walks through the orchards to join the Saxon Shore Way. Canterbury is a 20-minute drive. Whitstable and Dover for trips to France are easily accessible. Golf locally. Sandwich, a 15-minute drive. Shop and pub 1 mile.

The countryside kitchen boasts hand built wooden units, original barn flooring and chunky wooden worktops, with a butchers block island ideal for socialising whilst a hearty meal is being prepared. Here, Bi-folding doors lead out to the undercover gazebo and then out to the garden.
After a day of exploring the countryside, what better way to unwind than in the stunning freestanding bath, or warming walk-in rain shower. Split over two floors are 3 individually styled bedrooms, ideal for couples or extended families holidaying together. On the ground floor, is a peaceful double bedroom, with rustic beamed walls complimented with a splash of deep green paint and sumptuous padded headboard. Upstairs, the further bedrooms are each accessed by their own separate staircase from the living area. Behind wooden shutter doors sits a navy padded double bed; lit with industrial, hanging bedside lights, whilst on the other side of the living area steps lead up to a quirky family suite. Here, two single pods and a double bed sitting above on a mezzanine level, accessed from the rear via open-tread steps. There is also a games area in this room, complete with PlayStation 4.
Come summer or winter, the covered and spacious outside courtyard features a Kadai firepit, the ideal spot for a warming glass of red/hot chocolate, cooking a BBQ or even a curry for an all year round al fresco dining experience. An additional charcoal barbecue is also available for further relaxation in the sunshine during the summer. For those competitive members of the family, the table tennis will be sure to provide hours of entertainment. This is the perfect place for a special party, and although the property only sleeps 8, the owner is happy to welcome extra guests during the day to celebrate with those who are staying.

Known as ‘The Garden of England’ with its miles of woodlands and fields, including gardens large and small, visit Sissinghurst and Goodnestone Park, where Jane Austen penned parts of ‘Pride and Prejudice’. Approximately 8 miles from Canterbury, where the cathedral dates back to the 11th century, enjoy a concert, or take a river tour. Whitstable, dubbed the ‘Pearl of Kent’ presents a great opportunity to indulge in sampling oysters for which it is renowned for. Alternatively, visit the port town of Hythe, with its interesting antique shops and fishing along the seafront. Roundwood Hall, for golf, is less than 2½ miles away and there is horse riding at Marberdan Riding Centre, 1 mile. You can easily reach the north and south Kent coastline by car. Some of the favourite spots are the much loved seaside town of Whitstable, famous for oysters and Dymchurch and Hythe offering the light railway to Dungeness. Salomons Estate was built for Sir David Salomon, the first Jewish Lord Mayor of London in the 1850s by architect Decimus Burton. Set within an envious position, there are 36 acres of rolling gardens, parkland and woods surrounding you. Enjoy strolling around the estate on a sunny day following the woodland walk. The main mansion house on the estate is keeping within its original Victorian feel and boasts glorious décor throughout.
