There is a private hot tub at The Cottage, and the property offers 2 games rooms, 1 in the house with children’s toys, a library, games and 2 table football tables. The village itself offers good pubs, restaurants and local shop within walking distance. The coastal path leads to the famous White Cliffs of Dover, gateway to England and now one of the UK’s protected Heritage coasts offering some of the best cliff coastal walking in the country. The lighthouse is the place where Marconi transmitted his first radio broadcast to France. Closer to France than London, bring a passport, catch a ferry from Dover and visit the French markets in Calais and Boulogne for the day.

Westgate is ideally located in the centre of Thanet, surrounded by villages and towns, with so much to see and do from bars, restaurants, boutique shops to beaches, plenty of walks and plenty of parks and scenery to take in. With more than adequate travel links via bus and trains you can explore Thanet day by day easily and locally within 30 minutes maximum travel. There is a wide promenade meandering towards Margate Sands in one direction and Minnis Bay via cliff roads and promenade in the opposite direction.
A short 15-minute drive in the area can take you to Westwood Shopping area, Broadstairs, Ramsgate, Reculver Towers Park. Historic Canterbury, Herne Bay and Whitstable a little further. Westgate was originally a gated community and the architecture of many of the buildings reflect the Edwardian heritage.
