Children and adults alike can enjoy the owners’ collection of farmyard animals including goats, pigs, sheep, ponies, donkeys, and poultry. With a designated dog walk in the grounds, visitors’ pets are made to feel very welcome here too. Mappleton Sands are close by, ideal for summer picnics on the tranquil sandy beach or a cliff top stroll, and a 4-mile drive takes you to the seaside town of Hornsea with The Mere, a birdwatcher’s paradise and where boats can be hired for rowing and fishing. Here you are also within easy reach of the historic town of Beverley with its minster and renowned racecourse, and the award-winning aquarium ’The Deep’, in Hull city centre. There are stately homes at Burton Agnes and Sewerby Hall, and further inland lies the rolling countryside of the Yorkshire Wolds, the inspiration for David Hockney’s famous paintings. The nearby pub which is 400 yards away is closed at the moment but we have lovely pubs in nearby villages of New Ellerby and Withernwick. Shop 4 miles.

Close by to this holiday home is Hornsea Mere - a large, natural lake that offers water activities, whilst for a little retail therapy, there is Hornsea Freeport retail outlet. The surrounding area has much to offer the holiday maker, with the high, chalk cliffs at Bempton, Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, home to colonies of sea birds and the Spurn Point Nature Reserve. The unspoilt rolling countryside of the Yorkshire Wolds offers miles of walking and cycling opportunities and the stately homes and gardens of Wassand Hall, Sledmere House and Burton Agnes Hall are waiting to be explored. Bridlington has a fantastic theatre, situated just a short walk away from the apartment, hosting international shows throughout the year. There are an array of amenities within a few minutes walk, meaning everything you need is right on your doorstep. The harbour is a 5-minute walk which has a fantastic array of indoor and outdoor eateries. Take a walk along the seafront or follow the cliff top walk to Sewerby Hall, a beautiful Georgian mansion open to the public. The gardens are well worth a visit and there is even a small zoo for the children to explore. Bridlington golf course is just a short stroll from the apartment, an excellent 18-hole golf course first played on in 1907. Christine Cottage is perfect as a base for visiting the North York Moors National Park, the Yorkshire Wolds and the beautiful east coast. Renovated to a good standard yet retaining lots of original features, the cottage provides comfortable accommodation with a bath/shower room for every bedroom making this a great choice for couples as well as families.
The cottage is tucked away in a quiet courtyard near the church in Flamborough, with the owner living just around the corner. This detached property is centrally located for the shops, bars and restaurants with the beach in walking distance. Flamborough Head lies between Bridlington and Filey and is a bird watchers paradise. Every year birds travel in their thousands to Flamborough and you will see the interesting array of seabirds that cling to the chalk cliffs. People travel from all over the world to see the wonderful puffins and the RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton Cliffs is the best place to get a good view, as they provide viewing platforms along the cliff side. Flamborough is a traditional fishing village and although some fishing still take place, it now relies on tourism. A lovely walk along the cliff tops brings you to Danes Dyke, a fantastic nature reserve.
The bustling harbour of Bridlington is only a 10-minute drive away and is still a busy fishing harbour. This traditional seaside resort offers donkey rides, a pirate ship and of course sandcastles and candy floss. Beach ¾ mile. Shop, pub and restaurant 300 yards.

Old Low Farm Cottage is a charming, white washed, detached cottage situated on the cliff side, just outside the village of Aldbrough and near Hornsea. Located on a working sheep farm, this spacious property is perfectly placed to enjoy a family holiday in a peaceful setting, yet central enough to explore the delights of a traditional seaside town.
The cottage is single-storey with well proportioned rooms. Upon entering you will find a good-sized hallway with plenty of space to hang coats and store your buckets and spades. The kitchen is to the rear of the cottage with a family dining table, offering lovely views across open fields to the sea. With modern units and appliances, the chef in the group will enjoy preparing delicious, home cooked meals here. The spacious living room has large, comfortable sofas which surround the hearth and wood burner, and the large windows let in lots of light giving this room a homely feel. There are a selection of games and books to while away some time during the evening. There are three well-appointed and attractively decorated bedrooms, with two doubles and one single. The shower room features a large shower and plenty of storage space for all your holiday essentials. Outside the cottage is an enclosed garden, a great spot for children and your four-legged friends to play. The hot tub is nestled to one side of the garden with seating opposite. This is an ideal space to enjoy an al fresco breakfast or to watch the evening dusk over the English Channel.
The village of Aldbrough is a few minutes’ walk away in which you will find the village shop and the local pub. The town of Hornsea is no more than 10 minutes’ drive and has everything to entertain families, from a long sandy beach, central garden and a traditional promenade to amusements and lots of ice cream and fish and chips shops! Hornsea Mere offers watersports and fishing opportunities whilst Hornsea Freeport is a shopper’s paradise. Beverley is a short drive from the coast and has an excellent racecourse with a full racing calendar throughout the year. The market towns of Driffield and Market Weighton are also well worth a visit. A little further afield is the historic city of York. For those who enjoy exhilarating cliff walks, Flamborough and the Bempton Nature Reserve are close by, providing the opportunity to see puffins during the summer months. The stately homes of Burton Constable Hall and Grounds, Sledmere and Burton Agnes Hall aren’t far away and for a rainy day, a visit to The Deep, a spectacular aquarium based in Hull, is an absolute must.
