Situated in a wonderful location, just outside the small village of Thorncombe in West Dorset, near the Somerset border, this single-storey, detached barn conversion offers a great opportunity to get away from it all. There are many attractions to enjoy right on the doorstep, with the historic and famous Forde Abbey and Gardens, Broadwindsor Craft Centre and some delightful Dorset villages. Within easy driving you will find Lyme Regis on the famous World Heritage Jurassic Coast, where you can enjoy soaking up the sun on the sandy beach, or simply pass the time away walking along this stunning stretch of coastline. Maybe try boating, fishing, crabbing or even some fossil hunting on the shore. Inland, for some fun all the family can enjoy, the Yeovilton Fleet Air Arm Museum never ceases to thrill, or for lovers of classic cars, travel towards the Haynes Motor Museum. For the outdoor enthusiasts, there are some fantastic local walks available, with three national recreational footpaths on the doorstep of The Old Dairy. Within an easy drive is Longleat House and Safari Park a great day out for all. Guests can also spend some time at Stourhead House and Gardens and heading just to the other side of the abbey town of Sherborne, a favourite with everyone is the Yeovilton Fleet Air Arm Museum, with its feature aircraft carrier deck. For lovers of vintage classic cars of a bygone day, then the Haynes Motor Museum is well worth a visit to see an array of superb classic car collections. Further inland into south Somerset, you can spend days out taking in the ever-popular Clarks Factory Village, Glastonbury and on to Cheddar Gorge and Caves. Wander into the quaint town of Shaftesbury with its famous Gold Hill, Sherborne with its wonderful shops and abbeys, or go south towards Dorchester the county town, Weymouth with its award-winning beach and seaside atmosphere and the famous Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site. This elegant, Grade II listed Georgian town house is located next door to the popular Tivoli Theatre – perfect for a night out. Families, groups or couples will enjoy the delights of this charming town which has various eateries, inns, cafés, traditional shops and the beautiful historic minster. The Town House has many attractive period features, such as wood floors, sash windows and ornamental fire surrounds. On the ground floor is a large bedroom with en-suite shower room, a living room complete with an open fire, and a kitchen/dining room. Upstairs there are four further bedrooms, three benefiting from en-suite facilities, and a family bathroom with roll-top bath. Wimborne Minster is centrally located within this quaint town. Built in 705 AD, it was founded by the mother of King Henry V11, and is famed for its chained library and the tomb of Alfred the Great’s brother. Many people also frequent the Gin House which has a large selection of worldwide gins available. There are various festivals and fairs throughout the year too. Within easy driving distance are beaches at Sandbanks, Studland Bay, Bournemouth, Poole Nature Reserve and Brownsea Island, and to the west, you can visit The Purbecks, Corfe Castle and the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site.
For the outdoor enthusiasts there are various walks within easy reach, plus for a family day out, visit Moors Valley which is ideal for all age groups and is also dog friendly. As well as scenic walks and excellent wildlife spotting, there are a host of recreational activities available such as angling, orienteering, cycle hire, golf, Go Ape Tree Top Adventure, Forest Segway, walking groups, canoeing and péntanque. For keen amblers, Avon Heath is also nearby. Dorset has something for everyone. Close to the property, you will find Lytchett Matravers with local shops, pubs and restaurants. Further afield is the famous Dorset Jurassic Coastline. You will need more than a day to explore places like Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove and Lyme Regis and are all worth the visit. From award winning beaches to attractions such as boat trips and water sports the whole family will enjoy themselves. Poole Harbour is approx. 15-minute drive from Holly Hedge Farm which lays claim to the title of the second largest natural harbour in the world after Port Jackson, Sydney, this is a place of natural beauty with trips running daily to the famous Brownsea Island. Keep the eyes peeled for a red squirrel. For the golfer among us Bulbury Woods Golf Club is approximately 1-minute drive from the property where you will find a tree lined course for all abilities to enjoy. Samphire Cottage is a charming house, ideally situated just 200 metres or so from the charming and historic town of Lyme Regis, with its Cobb and beach. The house itself offers generous accommodation, with four bedrooms (one offering sea views), two bathrooms along with separate living room, dining room and a fully equipped kitchen. Outside, the garden is a real suntrap and perfect for enjoying al fresco dining or just relaxing with a cold drink after a day exploring this charming town.
Situated in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Lyme Regis is a sublime location. Charter a fishing boat from the harbour, go fossil hunting or take a walk on the spectacular South West Coastal Path. For something more leisurely, there are a plethora of pubs and restaurants in the town just waiting to be discovered. For nature lovers, the area has some of the most diverse scenery in the country. Lyme Bay sweeps round from the National Nature Reserve on the Dowlands Cliffs in an uninterrupted arc along the huge bank of shingle that is Chesil Beach, all the way to the limestone slab of the Isle of Portland. The 626ft Golden Cap, a breath-taking viewpoint and part of a lovely 2,000-acre National Trust Estate, is the highest point on England’s south coast, and a World Heritage Site. It is an easy drive to Bridport, Honiton, Sidmouth, Exeter and Dorchester, and for families, there are many lovely beaches close at hand, as well as Crealy Theme Park near Exeter. Beach 200 yards.

Just 5 minutes’ walk away from the award winning family friendly beach at Bournemouth and Boscombe, the house is also just 2 minutes away from the beautiful Boscombe Chine Gardens with their children’s play areas, a mini golf course, a basketball court, a nature trail and a public art arena. The property itself is light and spacious, with charming period Victorian touches and plenty of modern facilities, with a lovely warm and quality feel. An elegant winding staircase in the entrance hall reveals stained glass windows and there are solid doors, attractive sash windows and tiled cast-iron fireplaces in many of the bedrooms. There is ample parking for seven cars and plenty of free-parking in the road. An enclosed garden at the rear of the property is a great place for al fresco dining and relaxing. The property also has its own full-size American pool table.
Only 1 mile from the town centre of Bournemouth, an area which has become famous for its seaside water sports. The Coastal Activity Park at Boscombe Beach offers over twenty activities on the sea and sand, so there is always plenty to do for any type of party group and for all ages There are the traditional bucket-and-spade and deck-chair delights as Bournemouth Bay offers over 7 miles of golden sands. A trip on the Land Train from Boscombe to Bournemouth Pier is a must, as there is some wonderful cliff to views and plenty of choice to enjoy stop-offs in the tea rooms, ice cream parlour’s, cafés, traditional pubs and fish restaurants. Then, of course, there is the famous Bournemouth night life, with streets full of restaurants, wine bars, cocktail bars, themed pubs and some amazing night clubs, so you can feast and party through the night! Seaside Cottage (UKC5932) and Coastguard Cottage (UKC5933) each feature two comfortable double bedrooms. Bedroom one has a kingsize bed that can be made up as twin beds on request, with a sea view and an en-suite shower. Bedroom 2 has a double bed with beautiful sea views. There is also a comfy double sofa bed available in the spacious open plan living area with kitchen.

The beach is just 100 or so yards walk away and this area of Southbourne is quieter than the beaches towards Boscombe and Bournemouth. It is a sandy beach with fantastic views across the ocean and toward the Isle of Wight and The Purbecks. Also within walking distance is Southbourne high street which has a selection of convenience stores, independent restaurants, shops and pubs, including is a wide variety of takeaways and cafés as well.

There are numerous places you can visit nearby including Hengistbury Head which is an area of Scientific Interest due to the abundance of wildlife. Christchurch with its , independent shops, beautiful harbour and wide range of independant shops and eateries is well worth a visit. Bournemouth is also within easy reach with high street of shops, frequent events, cinema, theatre and of course its golden sandy beaches The New Forest with its free-roaming ponies, cattle and donkeys. It is an excellent place to go walking and cycling and is just a short drive away.

This detached cottage is the perfect place for a holiday either exploring the Dorset countryside or enjoying everything the property has to offer. Church House Cottage is perfect for up to four guests with a generous open-plan living space on the ground floor and a wonderful large garden surrounded by a wall. The living room has plenty of character with beams, stone walls and a wood burner for those cosy nights in. The kitchen is well-equipped and there is a separate toilet also on the ground floor.
Upstairs are two bedrooms, both featuring double beds complete with Egyptian cotton bed linen; with a separate bathroom located off the landing. Outside you can enjoy the enclosed private garden with views over the historic St. Michaels and All Angels Church built circa. 1308 whilst enjoying a morning coffee or evening meals/drinks under the stars ready for the next day. The local pub is a 25-minute walk across fields from the cottage or a 3-minute drive in the car.
With the location only a 5-mile drive from Shaftesbury, make sure you make the most of the stunning town centre, Shaftesbury Abbey, Gold Hill famous made from the Hovis advert plus the well-known local market, held weekly during the summer months which has been running for centuries. Three miles away is the town of Gillingham with a rich history dating back over 1000 years with several supermarkets. It is mentioned in a great deal of literature, including the work of Thomas Hardy. Nearby visit the stunning National Trust - Stourhead House and Gardens, Farmer Giles’ Farmstead, the Haynes Motor Museum with its fascinating collection of classic cars, and Yeovilton Fleet Air Arm Museum the home of Concorde and a large collection of naval aircraft. Explore the beautiful Marshwood Vale Dorset countryside, meandering down towards the World Heritage Coast, taking in Wareham, Lulworth Cove, Swanage and on to Weymouth, Poole and Bournemouth.
Inland you have the whole of Somerset within easy driving where you can enjoy excursions to Cheddar Gorge and Caves.
