The Shippen is a cosy but very spacious detached barn conversion in a peaceful rural location near Hartland, North Devon within easy reach of Hartland Quay, and other local beaches. The cottage is accessed via a private lane away from the main road, within the grounds of a smallholding. The cottage has a private water supply which is tested regularly according to Council regulations. There is underfloor heating on the ground floor and there are radiators upstairs. There are two bedrooms, one on the ground floor and one upstairs and there is also a single bed suitable for a child or teenager on the upstairs lobby area. Each bedroom has its own bathroom. The large open plan living/dining room has plenty of comfortable seating and a wood burner which makes it cosy in the winter, and the kitchen is well equipped with an electric aga, fridge/ freezer, microwave and dishwasher. There is also a washing machine in the downstairs bathroom. The conservatory is a real suntrap and leads out on to the lawn and patio with views over the fields. There is a woodland in front of the cottage which is idea for short walks, but please bear in mind there are chickens, ducks and geese on the premises and the garden isn’t enclosed.
The cottage is an ideal place to stay and explore this beautiful and unspoilt part of North Devon and it is located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Hartland Peninsula. Hartland village is only 1.5 miles away where there are shops, several pubs and a Post Office. Hartland Quay with its beautiful, dramatic scenery is a 10 minute drive away and has a beach and a pub.
