The Sheep Shack is in a great location on the side of Kinder Scout in the Peak District National Park. It makes an ideal base for walking, running, cycling and exploring the Peak District. Many walks and trails start from right outside the front door. The building is a converted barn and full of character but also benefits from a contemporary interior with high quality fittings and sustainable technologies such as ground source underfloor heating. As you enter the property you will be blown away by the open plan space and high ceilings with fantastic views from each window.
Step down onto the lower ground floor and you’ll find an open plan living space, with a well-equipped modern kitchen. There is a dining table with four chairs, a warming wood burner, Smart TV, and ample comfy seating. Patio doors take you out onto the enclosed back garden where outdoor furniture is positioned well to take in the amazing views. There is a small bedroom on the lower ground floor with single sized bunk beds, and a neatly tucked away washing machine should you need it. The ground floor wet room has separate bath, basin and open shower. The main double bedroom has en-suite facilities with a cubicle shower.
The Shack is also ideal for a romantic break. Visitors can enjoy peace and privacy whilst still being within easy reach of Hayfield village which has several pubs and cafes. After a long day out, you can amble down the lane to the pub or just kick back in front of the fire and relax.
The Sheep Shack benefits from sustainable technologies and has been built to BREAM specifications meaning low carbon consumption and very high levels of insulation. Solar heat is captured invisibly by a ground loop under the neighbouring field to supply hot water and underfloor heating.

Squirrel Cottage has been renovated in 2023, to a tasteful and modern standard. As you arrive and step into the open plan living space, you will find a beautiful island (with built-in hob) in the centre of the room, which also provides dining space for up to four guests to sit comfortably. The kitchen has all the appliances you should need to cook up a storm if you wish to do so! The living area has comfortable seating with a large, wall-mounted, Smart TV and to finish the room off nicely; bi-fold doors lead out into the garden, which can be left open on days that allow.
Upstairs is the master bedroom with a kingsize bed, which has the addition of a galleried snug area with TV and bean bags to give you a little quiet corner to enjoy, and also an en-suite with freestanding bath (please be careful on the laddered steps to get to this area). The second bedroom is a king which can be split into two singles if required, and has wardrobe space. Outside is a great size garden, which has a lawned area to the right as well as a patio directly outside the bi-fold doors. You can sit on the garden furniture and watch the squirrels!
Squirrel Cottage is located in close proximity to the town centre of Glossop, just a short walk away from all it has to offer, including coffee shops, pubs and restaurants as well as supermarkets and shops. Manor park and gardens are also just around the corner. There is a variety of walks surrounding Glossop, such as, a car-free Longendale Trail which has beautiful scenery to take in while you enjoy your walk or cycle, plus you are only a 30-minute drive from Edale, Castleton or the spa town of Buxton, all offering further fantastic walking routes which are picturesque.

This holiday cottage is spacious, yet intimate, and commands beautiful views of the countryside surrounding the peaceful village of Sheldon, only 3 miles from the market town of Bakewell. The oldest part of the cottage dates from 1800 and has been converted skilfully into a living room with tasteful furnishings, original beams, exposed stone walls and a large fireplace with a multi-fuel burner. There is a large dining area adjacent to the living room and a kitchen which leads into a south-facing conservatory, ideal for breakfast and relaxing. There is a downstairs toilet and utility area. Upstairs has three large double bedrooms (two with en-suite showers) and a bathroom. One of the bedrooms has a 6ft zip and link bed which can be used as a double bed or two single beds. The cottage has Sky TV and wi-fi internet access. Only a few steps from the main cottage is a games room and studio apartment. The large, heated games room has a pool table and table tennis table as well as a drying room for wet clothes and boots. Above the games room is the studio with sitting room and a double bedroom with en-suite. The sitting room has a sofa bed (for alternative sleeping only) and a TV. The cottage stands in an enclosed garden which has driveway parking for four vehicles, flower beds and two lawns. The larger lawn overlooks the nearby fields and hills, and is ideal for ball games. It adjoins a stone-flagged patio area with a built-in barbecue and outside table and chairs. Sheldon has a pub close to the cottage which is friendly and provides good food. The village is within easy reach of Bakewell and Ashford-on-the-Water, and is an excellent starting point for walking, exploring the countryside and visiting Chatsworth, Haddon Hall, The Heights of Abraham in Matlock Bath, the caves around Castleton and many other attractions in the Peak District. Whilst this isn’t a coastal destination, you may think twice if you stumble across Matlock Bath, with its seaside-like row of amusement arcades and fish and chip shops. Also close by is the Heights of Abraham, sure to make for a great day out if you like caverns and cable cars that is - there’s something for everyone here and the scenery is not to be missed. Not forgetting about the sheer beauty of your surroundings; walking and cycling in this area proves to be popular and there are lots of unique country pubs around to finish your adventure with a reward. Bee Keepers Cottage is located on a working farm on the edge of Derbyshire’s Peak District, the cottage overlooks the 18 hole golf course at Shirland Golf and country club where visitors day passes are available.

The cottage has beautiful rural views and offers guests the peace and quiet of rural living yet within easy access of local attractions and transport networks, and there is a golf course boarding the property’s grounds and miles of footpath networks adjacent to the farm.

All accommodation is on the ground floor. The Large modern kitchen/dining area to seat 6 and opens out onto the living area with Smart TV. The kitchen has an electric eye level oven, built in microwave, induction hob, fridge/ freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.

Two bedrooms have king size beds, and the third a single bed, and there is a family bathroom with bath and shower above – there is also an additional shower room with quadrant shower cubicle, toilet and basin.

Outside there are two seating areas, a BBQ, gardens and plenty of off-road parking.

Guests are welcome to visit the horses in the barn next to the property (prior arrangement with the owner), please supervise children for their safety.

It is 1 mile from Whaley Bridge where you can stroll along the tow path to the Buxworth Basin or take a narrow boat trip. Whaley Bridge also has a train station to help explore if you want to leave the car behind. You could spend a day in Manchester and take in a show for the evening. 6½ miles away is the famous spa town of Buxton which also boasts an opera house and Pavilion Gardens. Book a day in the Dome Spa to relax or travel a little further and visit Chatsworth House and its amazing gardens and estate. Medieval Haddon Hall and the old market town of Bakewell is a must and you can travel through Winnets Pass to the charming village of Castleton with its famous caves where the Blue John stone is mined. Take a tour by boat through these caves and learn about the history of the people and how they mined them. Matlock Bath and Alton Towers make great days out for families. There are plenty of activities to enjoy locally including inhouse clay pigeon shooting lessons (at cost, by arrangement with owner) and there is also golf and horse riding located within 5 miles of the property. Halfway between the bustling cities of Nottingham and Derby, also an easy drive away from the wonderful Peak District National Park. The cottage, built for salt mill workers is 18th century, and its name originates from Wilne Lane which is mentioned in the Doomsday Book.
