Set out to explore the area and you will be spoiled for choice on where to go first; the exquisite Tamar Valley, an area of outstanding natural beauty is a short drive away, with valleys and woodland views, hills, and walks. Catch the train from Gunnislake and marvel at the scenery around you as you travel to the historic Naval city of Plymouth with its marinas, famous Hoe promenade, aquarium, many waterside bars, and restaurants.
Travel half an hour south-west and find popular Downderry Beach, sheltered with rock pools at low tide for children of all ages to enjoy. Beautiful Dartmoor National Park and mysterious Bodmin Moor are must visits, both showcasing some of the most spectacular vistas in the south-west. Welcome to Windmills; a truly stunning cottage set within a secluded coastal location close to the beautiful fishing port of Mevagissey. Once parked, walk up to your door with its charming gold seahorse door knocker.
Inside, all is revealed, a superb open-plan living space, with hand-crafted fixtures and fittings throughout. The kitchen is well-equipped, bright, and spacious with its own breakfast bar. The dining area accommodates six guests with ease whilst the living room has quality soft furnishings and sumptuous seating, a lovely wood burner for those chilly evenings, and a generous-sized TV. There is a useful utility room with a washing machine too. The stairs with their stylish black and white banisters lead up to the first floor from where the views become even more impressive. All three bedrooms offer en-suite facilities and underfloor heating; bedroom one has a king-size bed, TV, walk-in shower, and, oh, those sea views! Bedroom two, with its charming mint green colour scheme, has a kingsize zip and link facility, sea views, a quirky sun-funnel, and a walk-in shower. The third bedroom is quite delightful in subtle pink hues, with a double bed, shower, and superb hand-made vanity units. Venture outside and you will find a secluded space with garden furniture, ideal for morning coffee before you set off!
The hot tub is in an idyllic setting with room for eight guests, and offers a wondrous view towards Mevagissey harbour. Then, of course, you have your own sympathetically restored railway carriage! With super lighting and electric sockets. You can take a ferry from Mevagissey to Fowey, an ancient port set within beautiful surroundings and full of charm. Visit St Austell, a town with many amenities and visible links to the once-thriving mining industry here.
The Wheal Martyn Museum is well worth a visit, whilst the world-renowned Eden Project is a short drive away; here huge Biomes protect the world’s largest indoor rainforest and so much more besides! Other nearby attractions include the world-famous Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan. There are also numerous beaches within a short distance with Carlyon Bay a short walk, but others such as Porthpean and Par Sands are also easily accessible. Chi-An-Mor is a fantastic location to base yourself when visiting Cornwall as it is very easy to access all of the county form here. Close to the major town of St Austell with all the amenities you would expect to find visitors can shop, explore, and eat with ease.

If you are looking for an old style, traditional Cornish cottage then look no further. Bellas Mouse is a characterful three-bedroom and three reception room cottage with a self-contained one bedroom annex and a garage and parking. This is a fabulous option for extended families who want to holiday together but would like the option of having some independence.
Found in the old heart of Penryn, just a mile from Falmouth, this vibrant historic waterside town has a range of pubs and eateries including a great fish and chip shop.
Enter through a gate in the wall into a private courtyard with stable doors into the main cottage and the annexe. The annexe has a studio room which has a kingsize bed, an en-suite bathroom and self-contained kitchen, which has access to the garden. The main cottage is delightfully quirky! The two main reception rooms and the two main bedrooms are dual aspect, and the exterior doors are all partly or fully glazed. This allows for the light to make the most of the cottage’s character and shows off the thick and curving walls, typical of a property of this era. This includes low door frames upon which you may bang your head. The kitchen leads out into a little walkway courtyard with steps up to the garden. From the dining room there are steps up to the stairs and down to a cloakroom and a utility room with a door out to the garden. The garden is lovely and private with water views and glimpses over the Falmouth estuary. Bellas Mouse is an old property built on different levels. It has many original features, including low narrow doorways and passages. There are small steps to some of the downstairs living rooms and upstairs to the bedrooms. The stairs to the bedrooms are quite steep and there is no hand rail. Feedback from some guests have cautioned that for anyone with depth perception problems or for those with limited mobility or with young children, the stairs and steps can be disconcerting. The back garden is quirky, quite small and terraced with changes of level and there are steps to access it from the cottage. Shute Lane is typically Cornish; steep and narrow thus making access to the cottage and garage tricky in places.
There is a garage for parking up the lane from the cottage and a second small car can fit in front of the garage doors. The garage is perfect for storing water sports equipment, bikes etc, the owner has provided a hose that can be used to wash down wetsuits. On arrival and departure, it is fine to pull down the lane to quickly unload into the courtyard. The cottage is just a few minutes’ walk from the train station and has excellent public transport links to Falmouth.

Situated in the village of Grampound, Bluebell Barn is a stunning barn conversion with an open plan living space ideal for families to enjoy. With a fully equipped modern kitchen, dining space and cosy living room area this property caters for up to six people in amazing comfort.
Upstairs are three bedrooms and the family bathroom. The master bedroom has a kingsize bed and en-suite bathroom with shower. The second bedroom houses a double bed and the third with a child friendly set of bunk beds and a Smart TV to keep younger guests entertained. The well-appointed family bathroom has a shower over bath. On the ground floor is an additional WC as well as a utility room with a washing machine, tumble dryer and microwave. To the front of the property is a courtyard garden that has plenty of furniture for alfresco gatherings and meals. Cosy up around the firepit when the nights draw in. There is also a garage available for storage of bikes and surfboards etc. Bluebell Barn is also happy to accept one well behaved dog.
Grampound sits almost equally between the city of Truro and the town of St Austell. The famous Eden Project is only 10 miles away and Lost Gardens of Heligan just 5 miles. From here you can explore the fabulous Roseland Peninsula and a host of picturesque villages and beaches. Pentewan beach is 6 miles away or travel past there onto the fishing village of Mevagissey with its working harbour, shops, and places to eat. The local pub is just across the road from the barn and provides good food and a warm welcome. Beach 6 miles. Pub and restaurant 300 yards.

Nancarrow is a large four-bedroom detached house which can comfortably accommodate up to fourteen guests and showcases three bathrooms, a large garden, hot tub, children’s play area, parking for five cars and it is also less than a 15-minute walk away from the beach.

The house is very spacious with a large hallway entrance, living room, an open plan kitchen diner and two sets of bifold doors. The dining table and chairs provides a great space to enjoy a home cooked meal and the kitchen is well-equipped with a double electric oven, electric hob, dishwasher, fridge, microwave and wine cooler, a large island worktop and a Smart TV making it a home from home. The handy utility room next door has a fridge/ freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer. The living room offers a cosy place to unwind after a busy day exploring Cornwall, with comfortable seating and a Smart TV with Freeview.

Head upstairs to discover the four stylish bedrooms, two of which are en-suite. The first has a super kingsize bed, a sofa bed, a large flat screen TV and an en-suite shower room. Two of the bedrooms each have a kingsize bed and share use of the family bathroom which has a bath with a handheld shower attachment and a shower cubicle. The fourth bedroom is set-up with two sets of double-sized bunk beds which can accommodate up to eight guests, plus a Smart TV and an en-suite shower room. There is a private garden with a large lawn and stone patio area, gas BBQ, outdoor seating for twelve and a children’s bench set. There is also a children’s play area including a see saw, swing, slide set and a football goal, plus a large shed for all outdoor activity equipment.

Nancarrow is perfectly situated just a 12-minute walk from Porthminster beach, 15 minutes to Carbis Bay and 15 minutes to the harbour. Alternatively, there is a bus stop at the end of the road which takes you one stop down to St Ives. Positioned south of St Ives, Carbis Bay plays host to a popular family beach and is often frequented by walkers enjoying the delights and challenges of the South West Coastal Path. The neighbouring seaside resort of St Ives is renowned for its artists who constantly draw inspiration from the landscape whilst also being the home of Tate St Ives.

Completed in late 2022, Rosefern is a stunning detached house of contemporary design with underfloor heating throughout. Tintagel is inextricably linked to the legend of King Arthur and is steeped in history. A visit to the English Heritage site of Tintagel Castle, where legend and historical fact alike meet stunning scenery, is a definite must while in the area and for Arthurian enthusiasts it is unmissable! There are many beaches in the area for surfers and sunseekers alike including Trebarwith Strand, Bossiney and the Castle Beach all in walking distance along beautiful coastal paths. Much of the North Cornish coastline is owned by the National Trust and is a haven for wildlife, providing fabulous walking opportunities with many well-trodden routes.
There are many pretty coves and inlets to discover along this coastline including Crackington Haven and Boscastle. A bit further to the south is the fishing port of Padstow and quaint Port Isaac of Doc Martin fame and 20 miles to the north is the fabulous coastal town of Bude. If you fancy crossing over the ‘border’ into Devon and enjoy open spaces then Dartmoor National Park is 33 miles or so to the east – here you can enjoy a day of walking and discover the vast moorland and roam the craggy landscape, defined by forests, rivers, wetlands and rock formations or tors. Or search the Neolithic tombs, Bronze Age stone circles and abandoned medieval farmhouses in this amazing landscape!

With an array of gorgeous sandy beaches close by (closest is Perranporth Beach), sea views and located in a quiet position, this is one of the most requested lodges. On-site you not only have a swimming pool but also a bar and restaurant, adventure playground and a skate park, all within a short walk but not impeding on the tranquillity of your location. More sedate water sports include paddle boarding, boat trips and kayaking, which are all available close by. Whatever floats your boat, you will find it in this wonderful holiday destination. Whether you are coming as a couple or a family, you are bound to want to return.

This superb, spacious bungalow lies adjacent to Bossiney Cove and the dramatic cliffs of the nearby coastline. Situated in the grounds of a caravan club site and within half a mile of several, sandy beaches and coves, it is a haven for children. It has recently been refurbished with new double glazing and a wonderful modern kitchen. The nearby coast path follows the cliff tops to the picturesque fishing hamlet of Boscastle and onto the legendary seat of King Arthur at Tintagel’s ruined castle. With many pubs, restaurants and leisure activities in the area this is both the perfect family holiday location and base for touring the splendid Cornish coastline.
