For a more leisurely affair, a local hotel just minutes from the house has an impressive spa and indoor infinity pool for a day of pampering and relaxation. The dramatic north coast is within easy reach, where visitors can surf, watch the waves or visit many of the pretty harbour villages, such as Padstow, Port Isaac or St Ives, all essential ports of call for visitors to Cornwall. This pet friendly, semi-detached holiday bungalow has been equipped to provide a comfortable base from which to explore this beautiful area of Cornwall. There is a large sunny enclosed garden with a patio, ideal for alfresco dining or a morning coffee. You are just a stroll away from the centre of the village of Port Isaac, made famous by the TV series ’Doc Martin’, with its array of shops, pubs and restaurants. Easily reached is Polzeath and Daymer Bay with their beautiful sandy beaches, and further down the coast is Padstow with its shops, pubs and restaurants, including Rick Stein’s fish restaurant. From here you can walk or cycle the Camel Trail along the estuary to Wadebridge and beyond to Bodmin, and it is ideally situated to visit the many National Trust attractions that Cornwall has to offer, including The Eden Project, Bodmin Moor with unspoilt moorland at its best, and the many beautiful gardens and National Trust properties. The Light House is in the pretty little village of Gwithian. The Light House is a spacious, dog-friendly, four-bedroom cottage, with an open plan, feel on the ground floor where the conservatory links through to the living room and kitchen. The garden is mainly laid to lawn with a patio to the rear of the house, a great spot to enjoy some al fresco dining or a barbecue. There is a ground floor double bedroom that would ideally suit one person but could accommodate a couple. On the first floor the master bedroom has a kingsize bed and views towards the sea, and another bedroom has a bunk bed. Up on the second floor accessed by steep stairs is a twin bedroom. Please note that the ground floor double bedroom and the shower room can be separated from the rest of the ground floor with the pull down roller blind.
Blasted by the breeze off the Atlantic, the magnificent beach at Gwithian Towans is always a colourful scene of windsurfers on the water, blow karts on the beach and kites in the sky. Backed by sand dunes, tufted with wild grass, at low tide, there is a vast amount of sand to enjoy, and large areas of rock pools are uncovered, which are great for kids to explore. The beach is dog friendly for most of the year with restrictions only applying between 10am and 6pm in July and August. Gwithian Towans is lifeguard patrolled (during high season). There is some great countryside to explore near here, but a highlight is the stunning coastal road between St Ives and St Just where the moorland meets the sea - wild and dramatic! If you take the train to St Ives, the line hugs the coast, and the views are quite beautiful, and the restaurants are superb. Both the north and south coasts are easily accessible, making it an ideal location for those looking to take advantage of the great surfing spots available in this part of Cornwall. St Ives, once a busy fishing village, now relies on tourism as its main industry. Turner came and painted a landscape in 1811 and art has played a part in St Ives history ever since. More recently Barbara Hepworth and the Tate Gallery have put St Ives on the modern map. Beach 1⅓ miles.

Madison is a lovely Swedish designed, detached holiday property situated not far from the beach and benefiting from being just under 8 miles from the popular seaside town of Bude. The property can comfortably accommodate eight guests with all rooms on one level.
There are three bedrooms; one with a super kingsize bed, Smart TV and a lovely en-suite with a multi spray unit, double walk-in shower plus a bath and the other two both being twins (one with a handy sink in it). There’s also a family shower room, again with double walk-in shower. The living space consists of a comfortable living area with Smart TV, a separate dining room with a double sofa bed and a conservatory with seating, a telescope and access to the rear garden and patio. The kitchen/breakfast room offers everything you’ll need for your stay and the utility room has a dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, freezer and coffee machine.
Outside is a large rear garden consisting of trees, lawn and a patio with a big dining table, perfect for outdoor family gatherings. Children will love running in and out of the trees and bushes and hidden away is a quiet sun lounging area. The Lily Pad is a wonderful and welcoming holiday home, just a few miles from the dramatic Seven Bays of North Cornwall, famed for its stunning beaches, cliffs, and coves. Once inside you are greeted with a bright and airy, open-plan living space with relaxing sofas to sink into, a cosy wood burner (with ‘starter pack’ provided) for those cooler evenings, and attractive floor and wall art unique to the property and evocative of Cornwall and its heritage. You will find lovingly restored furniture and repurposed features in the side tables and display units, turning function into fun! Lead on to the dining area, complete with impressive handmade wooden dining table and seating for ten guests, looking out onto the garden. The wall here is adorned with a fantastic map of the county, a further reminder of the wonders of this amazing region and its many attractions and places to explore! The adjoining kitchen has a small breakfast bar area and plenty of workspace and equipment for preparing breakfast or your evening meal.

There are five bedrooms all on one level, where the unique and upcycled theme continues, with solid pine furniture given a fresh modern look. A roomy family bathroom includes a bath, while a second bathroom features a walk-in shower.

Outside, an excellent decking area with table, chairs and barbecue offers the ideal space to enjoy morning coffee or evening meal al fresco. There is even a firepit!

You are spoilt for a choice of beaches here; Harlyn Bay Beach, just 3 miles away, offers a broad expanse of golden sand stretching far before you. Trevose Headland offers spectacular vistas, whilst further beaches at Treyarnon Bay and beautiful Porthcothan Beach are just a short drive away, with rock pools for all ages to explore! Visit Padstow, with its fabulous seafood restaurants, busy quayside and narrow streets, or vibrant Newquay, with its plethora of vibrant bars and restaurants, and scintillating surfing and water sports activities.

Away from the coast, Camel Valley Theme Park, the world-renowned Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan all offer fun days out, whilst Bodmin Moor is an atmospheric place, with mysterious rock formations and views as far as the eye can see. West Yardley (UK31200) accommodates up to 11 guests. On the ground floor is a bedroom for two people, with a large shower. On the first floor are a family bathroom and a further three bedrooms, one of which boasts a private balcony, tea making facilities and an en-suite shower room. The open plan living space features a good-sized kitchen area and a living area with a sofa bed.
The property features a private terrace accessed from the living area, offering marvellous sea views. Outside, there is a direct beach frontage and the properties are privately situated in established gardens, commanding an outstanding 180-degree panorama over the waters. Outside in the beautiful gardens the house has its own garden furniture with a barbecue, perfect for summer evenings. There is storage available for bikes or beach equipment, and an outside shower and dog washing station. Within the private grounds are a number of seating areas including a beach shack which features a rather impressive wood burner. Named Beach View, by night you can sit and enjoy the sunset and the silver moonlight shimmering on the sea.
The lovely village of Downderry features a restaurant, pub, coffee shop and a small shop all within a short walk. Ramblers will enjoy the scenic coastal footpath leading to the charming fishing ports and villages with quays. Looe is within easy reach and scenic Polperro is an enchanting village with quaint, traffic-free lanes and a fishing harbour surrounded with traditional inns and fisherman’s cottages. Take a stroll through the beautiful valley and woodland heading towards Hessenford or explore the coast and its fascinating rock pools between Downderry and Seaton, where there are pubs and a beach café. As one of the most easily accessed parts of Cornwall, you can usually expect to be on the beach just an hour after the Exeter M5 junction 31. Beach 50 yards. Polean Farm Cottages are located in Cornwall, down green lanes, off the Looe to Polperro road, just outside the village of Pelynt. The farm is set amongst rolling farmland and is less than 2 miles from the sea. All of the cottages are full of character and provide a cosy home-from-home. They have all been converted from original farm buildings which date back to the 18th century.
The Old Farmhouse (ref UK12895) is a historical, semi-detached farmhouse which has been tastefully renovated and is perfect for a large family get together or for two families to holiday together.
Little Owls Cottage (ref UK12896) is a detached barn named after the owls that still live in the nesting boxes around the building which can sometimes be heard at night. It is set in its own garden with glorious views across the farm and towards the village of Pelynt.
Rosebud Cottage (ref UK12897) and Shires Rest (ref UK12899) are pleasant, beamed cottages with lovely countryside views. Before being converted, both cottages were used to store hay in the winter and you can still see many of the original features.
Threpney Cottage (ref UK12898) is an imaginatively converted ’roundhouse’ and is full of character. The cottage was named after the old twelve sided three penny piece due to its shape.
Twinkles Cottage (ref UK12900) is a charming and spacious ‘upside down’, beamed cottage, with great views across the farm and surrounding countryside.
Waggoners Cottage (ref UK12901) is a delightful single-storey cottage, with its own garden and views of the front fields and the children’s play area at the rear. The cottage was named after the wagons that used to be stored in it and you can still see many of the original features of the barn.
The Mealhouse (ref UK12902) was originally used to store the feed or ‘meal’ for the pigs that resided in the pig sty which can still be seen across from it. The Mealhouse is detached and set slightly apart from the other cottages, offering uninterrupted views across the farm.
Polean Farm provides the perfect destination for a family holiday. The farm offers animal feeding each week day morning, where you may help bottle feed lambs (seasonal) and hand feed pigmy goats and chickens, as well as enjoy pony or tractor rides! The farm is also a working livery yard and children and parents often enjoy visiting the horses and ponies each day.
Guests have free use of an indoor heated swimming pool just a few minutes’ drive away. It’s perfect for families and children who want to splash around or those wanting to put in a few lengths and keep fit. Guests are also welcome to make free use of the nightly entertainment at the same local holiday complex which is just a few minutes’ drive from the farm. The entertainment is on every night and includes children’s entertainment, followed by grown up entertainment with top musicians, performers and comedians regularly appearing throughout the season. Children are allowed in the venue for the whole evening.
