Newton Abbot, EnglandSituated in a quiet location in the Teign Valley, close to Dartmoor National Park, is this spacious, detached, upside-down house. With amazing views from the balcony off the living room, you can sometimes see deer grazing on the hillside. Haldon Forest has many activities on offer, including cycle ways for off road cycling, a butterfly trail and for the really active visitors, there is a Go Ape.
If you fancy a flutter at the races, both Exeter and Newton Abbot racecourses are close by, or take a trip to Plymouth to visit the National Marine Aquarium, Plymouth Hoe and the Barbican. The city of Exeter offers a cathedral, canalside walks and plenty of shopping. Take a walk on one of the many tours that Dartmoor has to offer, or try letterboxing on the moor, a fun way to spend a few hours. Perched high on the cliffs above Slapton Sands, Seacliff Cottage is a three-storey detached house, built in the 1970s, with extensive sea facing balconies and large decked terraces looking directly out to sea and all along the coast with the fresh water lagoon, right over to Start Point Lighthouse. Slapton is a 3-mile, pebbly beach, a favourite with holiday makers in the summer, and fishermen in the winter, and of course, the location of the rehearsal site for the D-Day landings. It is also featured in the book ‘Adolphus Tips’ by Michael Morpurgo. Slapton Ley is a nature reserve where wonderful bird life can be seen, take a quiet walk with your binoculars and your camera and you will be thrilled at what you find.
