    As you enter the recently renovated Harbour Retreat, you find yourself in the downstairs hallway. The fully equipped kitchen is straight ahead and the open bright and airy living/dining area is to your right. The living/dining area leads out onto the pleasant enclosed rear garden via a sliding door, with decked area, hot tub and BBQ as well as part lawn with shrubs; a great area to sit out and enjoy the last of the sun after a long day at the beach! Upstairs is the family walk-in shower room and two bedrooms. One of the bedrooms benefits from a kingsize bed, the second bedroom is a double room but also has a pull out single bed, handy for if friends come to stay. The third bedroom contains bunk beds and is a great children’s room.
    The property is situated just around the corner from Paignton Harbour where there are plenty of restaurants and bars to visit. There is also a beautiful small cove named ’fairy cove’ just a minutes walk towards the harbour and large park, and coastal walks at your very doorstep.     Westward Ho! offers an array of seaside amenities including some fascinating curiosity shops and a good range of restaurants and cafés, many of which are regularly visited by locals for their quality fayre. The beaches are a main attraction of this area for many, and the South West Coast Path also runs through the area. This is a must for keen runners and walkers! Swimming, surfing, canoeing, entertainment for all the family and fishing are all close by too. If golf is your thing, then you should visit the Royal North Devon Club which is nearby, it was founded in 1864 and is the oldest golf course in England!
    The popular Tarka Trail can be accessed locally too, providing the unique opportunity to follow a disused railway line by foot or by cycle allowing you to enjoy some of Devon’s finest countryside and scenery while discovering the towns of Barnstaple and Bideford, where you can wander during the weekly pannier markets, with a host of local produce, quality cafés and crafts on offer. On your Tarka Trail journey be sure to visit the Fremington Quay Café for a tasty bite to eat and then the estuary-side village of Instow – where sunsets are a local treasure! And one place not to forget to visit is the world-famous village of Clovelly with its steep pedestrianised cobbled main street, traditional architecture, donkeys and views over the Bristol Channel. Be sure not to forget to visit Exmoor National Park with its magical night skies in Europe’s first ’Dark Sky Reserve’ and for a day with a difference take a trip across to Lundy Island, home to England’s first statutory Marine Nature Reserve due to its unique flora and fauna.

    Squirrels Nest is a charming, semi-detached Georgian cottage located in a quiet village 4 miles from Westward Ho! beach. The accommodation over two floors comprises a living room with cosy open fire and TV, a comfortable snug with a smart to for relaxing and a separate dining room. The kitchen has a preparation island. Don’t mistake the cooking range oven with the real thing though – the clever owner has made it simply as a decoration piece! On the ground floor there is also a handy boot room and separate toilet. On the first floor there are 4 bedrooms; a kingsize with en-suite shower room, a twin, a double with lovely countryside views and second twin with garden views. There’s also a family bathroom on this floor. Outside is a lawned garden with a raised decking area where you can better enjoy the countryside views while tucking into a tasty barbecue and keeping cosy in the evening in front of the firepit while stargazing. Parking is available on the drive for two cars.
    The village of Littleham, with its lovely pub The Crealock Arms (only a 10 minute walk) is just 3 miles from Bideford, which is the second largest town in North Devon and has plenty to see and do. It has a lovely riverfront and port, which was once Britain’s third largest. Other beaches, such as Westward Ho! and Instow are firm favourites locally and only 4 miles away. The South West Coastal Path is a must for keen walkers and runners, as is the popular Tarka Trail, which stretches for about 180 miles and can be accessed locally. It provides the unique opportunity to follow a disused railway line by foot or bicycle, allowing you to enjoy some of Devon’s finest countryside and river views and enjoy various treats along the way through Instow, Fremington Quay and onto Barnstaple, North Devon’s historical regional centre.
